This is not a thread for any scaremongering. Just want to compare how others were feeling.

Had mine yesterday. Didn’t feel a thing, until within the hour I knew id had a jab in my arm. Nothing major.

But come bedtime i was shivering, achy, tired and went to bed with 2 pairs of socks, pj pants, hoodie, dressing gown and a hot water bottle and 2 paracetamol as they suggested if i got unwell 😂 couldn’t sleep, got out of bed and settled on the sofa to no avail.

Im still cold and achy in bed with a hot water bottle 😔

Im 46 and fit and healthy and just puzzled as to why I've reacted where as my dad is 74 and sailed through it.

If you got unwell how long were you?

Fine. But I took paracetamol straight away instead of waiting for any side effects.

Pearbear · 04/04/2021 13:50

I’ve had both of my jabs and been ok after both of them. Yet the flu jab this winter made me feel dreadful

MrsDThomas · 04/04/2021 13:51

Were you fine the following day? Its just not shifting

Have you had Covid before?

MrsDThomas · 04/04/2021 13:53

@Pearbear I’ve had the flu jab for many years after suffering one winter where i was floored for 2 weeks and lots a lot of weight (that was the only good bit!) and never had a reaction.

Its just so weird how we all react differently to them,

OP posts:
MrsDThomas · 04/04/2021 13:53

@AyyX never had any symptoms so no.

Absolutely fine. Usual tender arm but nothing else. The only person in my extended family who was unwell was my Dad who had 12 hours of temp, nausea, shivering etc and then was right as rain since then.

Vintagevixen · 04/04/2021 13:54

Like shit, okay in the day but that night...boy, it was horrible. Slept after the school run the next day (which I almost couldn't do as feeling so faint). Fine upon waking and been fine since.

Gonna yellow card it.

BriocheForBreakfast · 04/04/2021 13:59

DH had his the week before me. He was fine during the day but developed a headache by around 9pm. We'd also had some wine with dinner which maybe wasn't such a good idea. He then had flu-like symptoms the next day but felt better the day after that. He also had a sore arm for several days.

I stayed hydrated in the days leading up to my vaccination. I started taking paracetamol about 4 hours after the jab and then had two more before bedtime. I woke up during the night with a sore arm and took two more then another two in the morning. Apart from the sore arm I felt fine. Maybe a little tired but that was it.

MrsDThomas · 04/04/2021 13:59

Oh @Vintagevixen sounds awful. Im kinda feeling sorry for myself too as its the bank holiday and such a beautiful day.

When my 2nd is due its gonna be early in the week as i aint wasting another weekend feeling like this 😂

And I had the AZ vaccine.

BriocheForBreakfast · 04/04/2021 14:00

And so did DH

DinosaurDiana · 04/04/2021 14:00

Which one did you have ?

Vinorosso74 · 04/04/2021 14:00

I has mine well afternoon, woke up around 5am with a headache which went. Around midday I felt a bit woolly headed but had lunch and a couple of paracetamol then felt ok.
My arm wasn't that sore either. It was a lot worse when I had a tetanus a few years ago.

YellowPurple · 04/04/2021 14:00

There is SOOOOOO MANY of these threads now.
If you look them up on here, there will be PLENTY of answers

Vinorosso74 · 04/04/2021 14:01

*I had mine early afternoon

gabsdot45 · 04/04/2021 14:02

I had mine on Thursday. I haven't felt well since. Just a low level flu type feeling. I've been taking paracetamol.
However I'm also experiencing perimenopause symptoms and having a period at the same tine so I'm not sure what's what to be honest.

lurkingfromhome · 04/04/2021 14:02

Got the jab on the Monday morning, started to feel awful by 6 that evening, awful all day Tuesday, went to bed at 10, woke up on the Wednesday feeling completely fine.
Younger people tend to get worse symptoms although a couple of my friends I’d have expected to feel bad (they have asthma, prone to throat infections, sinus problems etc) asked through it with nothing at all.

LeviAckerman · 04/04/2021 14:03

I had a sore arm and that's all. It was properly sore though - gasping in pain when using that arm. Sore from elbow to the top of my shoulder.

Then 100% fine after 3 days. Totally worth it.

crazycatgal · 04/04/2021 14:06

I had AZ yesterday morning.

By the evening I was feverish, shivering one minute and boiling the next. A few hours after that I also felt like i'd been hit by a truck, I also had a sore arm and headache.

Starting to feel a bit better now.

DinosaurDiana · 04/04/2021 14:07

After my first AZ I had chills and felt absolutely knackered the day after.
Had my second yesterday and feel fine today.

SuperintendentHastings · 04/04/2021 14:14

I had my first back in February and felt identical as you describe OP. Started on the evening of the vaccination, wiped out the following day then was fine the day after. Plenty of water, plenty of rest and you'll be right as rain tomorrow.

lachy · 04/04/2021 14:33

I felt fine. The next day my arm felt a bit sore and I spotted a huge bruise!

Wishihadanalgorithm · 04/04/2021 15:40

Had mine yesterday morning (AZ) and felt woozy almost immediately for about an hour. Took paracetamol all day and felt fine just a bit tiered. Woke up today and arm is a little bit achey so had more paracetamol and felt lethargic but otherwise OK.

I only know of one person who felt ill and they were up all night with sweating, pain and aches. It soon passes though.

Parker231 · 04/04/2021 15:52

I didn’t get any post vaccine side effects, others get some which last a couple of days but it’s nothing compared to how ill you could be with Covid or long Covid
