Do you have any plans or is it going to be a quiet easter this year?

MIL will come for dinner as she's in our bubble, that's about it!

givemushypeasachance · 01/04/2021 16:12

Family I'd like to visit with four month old niece I haven't met yet are several hours drive away. Seems ridiculous to make a five hour round trip to socially distanced sit in their garden for a couple of hours. How is that really different from video calling? Hoping in six weeks time to be able to go and stay indoors properly and help them out with the baby and house stuff.

I have a support bubble here who I see a couple of times a week, they have hectic small children and work juggling, so will probably visit them at some point over the weekend and help occupy the kids.

Normally we would have a roast for lunch but we decided on a nice breakfast and going for a walk in the afternoon as Sunday is the only day supposed to be sunny-ish.

So, breakfast, egg hunting, lunch, walk and then movie or boardgame and small-ish dinner with cold cuts, cheese and nibbles.

Adult ds coming over (he’s in our bubble). Having Greek style Lamb on the BBQ, and I’m doing a boozy trifle.
Will try and find a good film to watch.

sonjadog · 01/04/2021 16:29

I will be all on my own as I can't visit family as they are in a different country and friends and partner are in a different region and aren't allowed to travel here (not UK). So I thinking I will make a packed lunch and head out for a long walks somewhere nice that I haven't been before, and then find something good to read on my Kindle.

HadEnoughOfBears · 01/04/2021 16:34

I'll be busy getting my first COVID vaccine!

Kljnmw3459 · 01/04/2021 16:40

Kids will be looking for the eggs sometime in the morning. Then I'd love to go for a long walk if the weather permits. Then lunch and lazing around.

bettertimesarecomingnow · 01/04/2021 16:42

Hmm
Vickles20 · 01/04/2021 16:44

I’m looking forward to it. Nice long weekend for DH who’s been working flat out lately. It’ll be nice to see him switch off and chill. Play date in the garden planned for one of our kids. Dominos and icecream. Then my god parents over for afternoon tea on Saturday afternoon. Haven’t seen them since December so can’t wait. Then we’ve got tickets for a local castle gardens Easter event. Might be a wash out. But looking forward to packing us all in the car and heading out for the day. Will are sure we’re prepared for the weather!

Loved the sun on Tuesday and Wednesday. Just heaven to have sat out in the sun for a bit. Very lucky. Shame the weather’s due to change. C’est la vie!

Have a lovely long weekend everyone

Vickles20 · 01/04/2021 16:45

SunnyNights · 01/04/2021 16:47

We have a mini Easter party. Just me, DH and the three kids. Going to play Easter bingo and pin the tail on the rabbit.

Food will be a brown buffet - nuggets, pizza, hot dogs etc

needadvice54321 · 01/04/2021 16:49

Not much on Sunday, probably just eating chocolate. DS has rugby training in the afternoon.

We're visiting family tomorrow and Monday. Haven't seen either side since December or before (apart for a very brief funeral last month). Just hoping the weather holds out!

itsgettingwierd · 01/04/2021 16:50

BBQ at my parents.

Shame the weather is changing but I can wear a coat and take a blanket Grin

olivesnutsandcheeseplease · 01/04/2021 16:50

Going to my mum's for lunch (we are her support bubble) and doing lots of jobs in the garden for her. Doing an egg hunt in the garden for DS.

dementedma · 01/04/2021 16:51

I love Easter Sunday so disappointed cant do much this year. Will have some sort of lunch with DCs who are at home, and mum who's in our bubble. DH working.

Chimeraforce · 01/04/2021 16:51

No plans. May do bbq or make pizzas.

DD will be in her crypt with the blinds down.

May go for a walk.

Horrid house builders next door and it's freezing so not inviting family. They're about to move so are not having anyone over as they're all boxed up.

Confused
pinkearedcow · 01/04/2021 16:59

Not much, just me and DH, our family are all in other countries, so no meeting up. We'll make some nice food, drink some good wine, binge watch some TV and count our blessings that we are still here, still healthy, still married after a year of being locked down together.

This time next year, this whole nightmare will be behind us.

FinallyFluid · 01/04/2021 17:00

Roar @

DD will be in her crypt with the blinds down.

Grin Grin Grin

So will DS.

When he emerges I will have decorated the table with all the good stuff, some easter egg shaped fairy lights.

We have nice champagne for a pre dinner drink.

Lovely wine to go with leg of lamb and all the trimmings.

Finished off with a really lovely dessert wine from Waitrose.

Find something to watch on TV or a film, once we all finally agree.

Looking forward making the best of bad situation.

We should have been in my home country , but yet again we can't travel so thanks for reminding me. Grin Grin

aibutohavethisusername · 01/04/2021 17:02

Going to see my parents for a socially distanced outdoor walk & chat. Then going to OH’s parents for socially distanced roast dinner in the garden.

Would it be rude to ask if you are having lamb for dinner?!

Good username.
