Children’s mispronunciations which have stuck.

My son said ‘macamori’ instead of macaroni when he was younger. The whole family still refer to it as macamori, years later.

My friends son would ask for a ‘dinky dous’ when he wanted a drink of juice. We still say that now.

Any similar children’s mispronunciation’s which the whole family have adopted as their own?

Eczema is called Terrible. When ds first got it as a toddler I think one of us said oooh that's terrible let's put some cream on resulting in ds thinking that was the name of it Grin he's 7 now and still calls it that.

My brother used to say 'plob' for the remote control (I have no idea why, it's not even remotely - if you'll pardon the pun - similar) but it's still a plob to my parents, my grandparents and me (and therefore DP and DSS now!)

Funny how it's stuck!

Hostibul
Night night, sleep tight, don't let the bunk beds bite.
Ish or ishy = muslin to cuddle. I think it came from "do you want this? I've got this here for you" because we couldn't really think of a word for it!

Babyleaf - bayleaf
Boonalloon - balloon
Oppama - octopus
Orrins - crayons
Raddy - for some strange reason this could refer to either a monkey or a nappy.

Most of these have fallen out of use (ds is 20) but we still often refer to a babyleaf or a boonalloon.

We also had pisgetti for spaghetti.
blama for banana, molk for milk.
My DS first word was gogurt - yogurt.
He also used to say outside in instead of inside out.
Another word he had, which isn’t a mispronunciation but a word I think should be introduced to the English language is schnorzing. It means to have your favourite toy/blanket/comforter under your nose, your thumb in your mouth and your other fingers hooked over your nose.
We would ask him what he was doing and he would say, “I’m schnorzing.”
