Batley Grammar School

I am outraged that a howling mob of thugs has been allowed to gather at Batley Grammar School to threaten a teacher and demand his sacking. The headmaster has issued a groveling, spineless apology. The threats have been condemned by such as the National Secular Society. The cause if this nonsense? During a lesson on blasphemy, its self the ultimate victimless crime, the teacher showed cartoons of Muhammad. Free soeech is once agsin under attack by religious groups claiming special privileges for their beliefs, absolutely disgusting.

Completely agree. I think it’s absolutely appalling that people think they can censor and control others over ‘blasphemy’. I’m disgusted that this is happening in 2021 and horrified that so many people think that a) it’s ok to hound a school and teacher for this and b) even if they aren’t there they think they have the right to control what others say and do and censor conversations. It’s a cartoon FFS.

The headmaster has thrown the teacher under a bus. If anyone needs sacking it’s him.

Interesting, there is also rumours of police corruption in those forces

SprungisSpringYaY · 27/03/2021 14:33

There problem is, we are in a situation where to be free and act as our society allows us.. We need police protection Hmm

I think exceptionally large armed police presence should get down and get a grip..

Unfortunately hate preachers were allowed to globe trot for years before isis etc exploded. I saw a spider graph linking bombers and terrorists to these preachers and it was eye opening..

Need crack down.

@SprungisSpringYaY

It’s too late for crack down. The problem is not just ideological divisions between the Muslim communities and the rest of society. An entire generation (maybe two) has been indoctrinated by the loony left to hate this country and everything it stands for. When someone’s response to a story like this is to blame the teacher, what hope do we have for the future?

The silent majority (everyone older than 30) aren’t so daft or arrogant - they are just too afraid to speak out. Let’s face it, the police wouldn’t be on hand to offer any protection.

I disagree it's never too late, just needs specialised teams with clear goals.

Flooding the areas.

I have just read that governers are looking at dropping blaspheme from the curriculum. That would be utterly outrageous if this incident leads to them caving in on this.

We clearly need more education on blasphemy, discussing why don't we have these laws in the UK etc and why it's OK to look at images, dicuss them etc.
