Simple things you’re grateful for

Feeling pretty positive today and reflecting on the things I’m grateful for in life.
What 3 simple things are you grateful for that you take for granted?
Decided not to go with children, home, pets, food to eat etc as I don’t take those things for granted.
I’m going to pick...

  1. How great it feels to be in cosy bottoms and a sweatshirt, hair up and no where to go.
  2. Music! I couldn’t live without it!
  3. The fact that the stars and moon exist, they are beautiful!

  1. Sunshine
  2. Having running water and reliable electricity
  3. Libraries
TreeDeeDum · 30/03/2021 10:09

P.s. I love your three @Crikeymalikey. All of them.

Lockdown has been temporarily and partially lifted.
Make the most of it, as we dont know what is around the corner.

Being able to see my mum again.
It's unbelievable how something like that has become illegal in the last 12 months. I never ever thought there would be a time when I was banned from hugging my own mum for a year (I know I still can't do that, but I least I can see her in the garden now!)

3Britnee · 30/03/2021 10:55
  1. My husband.
  2. My dogs.
  3. Living near the sea.
InvincibleInvisibility · 30/03/2021 11:00

The sunshine

The wonder that is medicine. Our daily lives have been hugely improved through migraine and ADHD medicine (ok not simple but it feels like it as it is available)

AnaViaSalamanca · 30/03/2021 11:53

Being young-ish and healthy, the knowledge that when I have aches and illnesses they go away quickly.

Modren life, what we consider wveryday essentials would have been luxurious available to only kings a couple of centuries ago - hot shower, electricity, cars

Technology that enables me to keep in touch with friends and family across the world

ParkheadParadise · 30/03/2021 12:05
  1. My Washing Machine
  2. My Car
  3. Being able to order a takeaway to be delivered to my house.
😂😂😂😜
Buckingafout · 30/03/2021 12:06

Sunshine and my garden

Crikeymalikey · 01/04/2021 15:13

@TreeDeeDum I like yours too, particularly libraries Smile
@3Britnee living near the sea, yes!
@AnaViaSalamanca we’re very lucky, I do wonder what’s ahead for future generations though, I fear it will be very technology based and allot of AI. Scary!
@ParkheadParadise lovely luxury a takeaway! After ordering more this last 6 months than we’ve eaten in our lives though I’d be glad to not order another until next year Blush

1 Internet: find out anything so easily. Particularly enjoying watching science based videos with dc atm, and there are so much things I didn't know, or never even crossed my mind if there weren't these tech available.
2 Music: Instant pick me up.
3 Nature: Small things that makes me happy.

sueelleker · 01/04/2021 15:48

Grateful I retired just before the pandemic started. I worked in a hospital, and my husband is vulnerable. I'd have had to either take unpaid leave, or risk bringing something home to him.

ITSADOGSLIFE21 · 01/04/2021 15:54

I so need this thread right now. Loving all the positivity everyone.

Here's mines:

  1. Being alone and listening to the birds outside. Its beautiful.
  2. My health. Its not the best but I'm honestly trying so hard so make it better.
  3. My life. I live comfortably. No money worries etc and I think I take that for granted a lot. I always want "more" but my life is perfect for me.
Cosmos123 · 01/04/2021 15:55
  1. My home. Safe warm and dry
  2. The lovely sunshine
  3. My friends
mamaduckbone · 01/04/2021 16:03

My garden - it's only small but it makes me so happy
Books - I love being able to escape to another place
Good food - eating good things has been one of the only pleasures in life of late and I'm grateful that Dh and I both enjoy cooking and eating, and that the dcs are good eaters who will try new things too.

Atalune · 01/04/2021 16:07

Podcasts and my audible subscription
My garden- little joys everyday
My steam mop. I know that’s super sad but it makes the house clean clean clean.

IntermittentParps · 01/04/2021 16:10

Beautiful jays in my back garden.

Trees snowing with blossom.

A job that a) is continuing despite the pandemic and b) I really love.

SlugsTrout · 01/04/2021 16:17

Crikeymalikey · 10/04/2021 13:08

Today I am grateful for....

My eldest sons regaining of confidence and independence after a tough time,
Some delicious curried parsnip soup with toasted sourdough and butter,
A sense of peace and calm.

Much more but those are 3 top picks today!

Family.

Being able to get out most days with my sibling’s dog and to live near water.

Dodging Covid.

Being lucky enough to work this last year even though sometimes it has been terribly hard.

Sunshine and stars.

Blessings counted.

Purplecatshopaholic · 10/04/2021 13:53

Spring starting to spring in my garden;
Sitting in my sunny conservatory;
The smell of my fresh laundry (washed by my machine not my fair hands). Happy days

ChristmasFluff · 10/04/2021 16:32

I had diarrhoea recently, and realised how amazing toilets are - that's not left me, I'm so grateful for them.

My ear muffs - I forgot them the other day, and wow, the wind was painful.

My bed. I love getting into my bed, but I think I take for granted that I have a king size all to me, and it is actually fab
