Nope that doesn't scare me.

People scare me.

JackieakaBritney · 25/03/2021 02:14

Yeah people are rubbish I agree

This is also pretty scary tho?

I mean I think the things I've posted are fairly likely to happen at some point. I just find them quite terrifying!

OP posts:
Ieatmarmite · 25/03/2021 02:27

I find the idea of intelligent robots quite scary.

Blurpblorp · 25/03/2021 02:35

Sinkholes. And dying before my children are grown up.

I am also not fond of intelligent robots.

Other things that scare me are the thought of the extreme consequences of climate chang and the fact that women’s rights are currently constantly under attack from both the extreme left (‘uterus havers’) and the extreme right (‘abortion should become illegal again’ etc.)

YouWereGr8InLittleMenstruators · 25/03/2021 05:54

Global and local impact of climate emergency.
Antibiotic resistance (and misconceptions about what this means).

Frazzledd · 25/03/2021 06:05

People....one-upmanship, gossip, judgement, selfishness, discrimination...we ruin each other on a daily basis.

cryh · 25/03/2021 06:13

The way the UK has got very right-wing very quickly with some scary laws in parliament now

The way people will vote for dreadful leaders

Climate change

Elwynne · 25/03/2021 06:24

So many things...
SIDS
Losing my job and not being able to pay the bills
Climate change
War
CJD - apparently growing up in Britain means we can't donate blood in much of the world because we could be incubating the prions for decades until we get it Shock
My parents getting older

I'm going to stop now and try and think about happy things

starrynight21 · 25/03/2021 07:19

I've got into my 60's now, and I've seen many things happen which scared people to death at the time. And yet, life goes on and we're all still here .

Don't waste your energy being scared of things which will probably never happen.

As the song says, don't worry ! Be happy.

starrynight21 · 25/03/2021 07:21

By the way, why are you scared of a solar eclipse OP ?

Chicchicchicchiclana · 25/03/2021 07:35

That I will end up like my mother.

A pandemic that kills children and young people.

Modern funfair rides.

Vomit and vomiting.

myusernamewastakenbyme · 25/03/2021 07:39

Death...my mum died at 52...im almost 47....the thought of leaving my kids alone terrifies me.

Diddumz · 25/03/2021 14:53

Death - terrifies me.

Dark, deep water.

Dog poo on the pavement.

Heights.

Getting a cold - I dread them as I always feel so ill.

JovialNickname · 25/03/2021 15:04

Severe poverty

Homelessness and sleeping rough

CigarsofthePharoahs · 25/03/2021 16:15

Cancer.

FindingMeno · 25/03/2021 18:50

Nuclear war.

bloodywhitecat · 25/03/2021 18:53

Tomorrow. I am scared of what tomorrow's appointment will bring.

BurbageBrook · 25/03/2021 19:08

Death.
Right wing politics.
Racists/prejudiced people.
My DP leaving me (don't think he will, I'm just a bit 'anxiously attached').
Wasting time/life/not achieving goals.
Heights and rollercoasters.

sijjy · 25/03/2021 19:59

@bloodywhitecat don't know what your appointment is for but hope it goes well for you and it's not scary. Thanks for you.

bushhbb · 25/03/2021 20:03

I know this is a common one-

But we have a balcony and I lie awake at night often worrying if one of us would ever fall as it's 18 storeys up and windy

Runway · 25/03/2021 20:05

Op you’re scared of a solar eclipse that happened in 1999? I’m confused!

Loopyloututu2 · 25/03/2021 20:08

Most of the things people have already posted.
Also train station platforms - my teens get the train occasionally and I have a fear of someone pushing them onto the tracks - I always say "remember to stand against the wall until the train has stopped and only then get on!"

madroid · 25/03/2021 21:34

Getting old and being unable to do stuff.
