I've just watched Mums List. Proper sobbing watching it and I don't even have children.

Eight Below, Haachi and Marley & Me are sad too.

Dances with wolves. I sobbed and sobbed.

Milomonster · 23/03/2021 18:02

I adore that film - will watch again.

Glosgran · 23/03/2021 18:04

Lorenzo's Oil and Kes. Both older films and more recently Me Before You.

Lorenzo's Oil tells the story of a couple's search for a cure for their terminally ill child.

Kes is a Ken Loach film about a solitary child who befriends and trains a kestrel.

Me Before You is a bitter-sweet romance with many humorous but poignant moments.

La Vita e Bella, without a doubt. I cried so much in the cinema I lost my contacts. It is such a beautiful film, showing the depths of parental love.

lucie82 · 23/03/2021 18:06

I cry every time I watch beaches and the queen, I was heartbroken when Diana died, purely because William is a few months older than me and I know how I would feel if I lost my mum

tabby007 · 23/03/2021 18:06

I can recall a few, A Walk To Remember with Mandy Moore. Boys Don't Cry. Watership Down, and The Notebook.

Member984815 · 23/03/2021 18:09

Truly madly deeply, so so sad

Santiago1 · 23/03/2021 18:09

@melanieb32

Room, I sobbed buckets over that x
Me too. I watched it with newborn DS sleeping in my arms and sobbed all the way through it.

He's 5 now (the age the boy was at the end) and I still think about it all the time (especially in Lockdown!).

Yes, I'm crying now.

CozmicB · 23/03/2021 18:11

The note book... sobbed like a baby. Watched it alone mind. 😀
Life is beautiful.... the ending killed me.
Lion... just beautiful.
Haachi.... heartbreaking

tabby007 · 23/03/2021 18:12

Oh The Green Mile, Tess of the Derbavilles, The Lovely Bones.

cittigirl · 23/03/2021 18:12

The Magdalene sisters. 😭

smilingontheinside · 23/03/2021 18:13

Marley and me. I cry at supervet and sometimes at the news so anything to do with animals makes me bawl. Also some music can reduce me to tears depending on my mood when I hear it 😭

Mummabear89 · 23/03/2021 18:13

Definitely grave of the fireflies by studio ghibli. Makes me cry every single time

Frenchdressing · 23/03/2021 18:13

Cannot watch sad films since I had kids.

Plunger · 23/03/2021 18:15

The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas. When the credits rolled the auditorium was silent, no one rushed out of their seats which normally happens. Everyone just sat there silent for a good few minutes.

Scotland32 · 23/03/2021 18:15

I’m of the Beaches era. Heartbreaking. I can’t even hear the music (Wind Beneath My Wings) now without wanting to cry! I could list a few more. Since I had kids I am a real cryer!

wilmaj · 23/03/2021 18:16

Zeezee82 · 23/03/2021 18:23

Almost anything. Things with dad’s and daughters like Les Mis and Armageddon.

I probably cried most at Backbeat though. I knew it was a true story about The Beatles but I didn’t know what happened

Roughasabadgersbum · 23/03/2021 18:25

Seven pounds
Toy story 3 ( I was pregnant and hormonal)
Boy in the striped pyjamas ( the book also made me wail)
Lovely bones
The green mile
