I've just watched Mums List. Proper sobbing watching it and I don't even have children.

Eight Below, Haachi and Marley & Me are sad too.

The Champ. Still, after all these years.

Beaches.

Recently It's a Sin had me sobbing for 24 hours.

tryinghardnottocry · 23/03/2021 17:33

Ken Loach's film "I Daniel Blake"

I found it very sobering and upsetting

melanieb32 · 23/03/2021 17:33

Room, I sobbed buckets over that x

Matildalamp · 23/03/2021 17:36

Paradise Road, it’s about women in a Japanese POW camp. Heartbreaking, with some brilliant performances.

Trudij123 · 23/03/2021 17:38

Pretty much anything involving animals

Me before You

YouLookNiceJackie · 23/03/2021 17:38

Mines probably Bucket list but that's down to circumstance and my idiot (now ex) boyfriend.
I had found my work friend dead that day and went over to my boyfriends house so I wasn't on my own and that's the film he chose to put on. He was most put out that I asked if we could watch something else.

As a child I used to sob so much at the film My Girl but watched it several times!

DagenhamRoundhouse · 23/03/2021 17:39

Born Free. In fact, anything with animals.

DagenhamRoundhouse · 23/03/2021 17:40

Forgot 'Brief Encounter' ! Still heartbreaking after all these years.

suzy13woozy32 · 23/03/2021 17:42

For me it has to be Bridges of Madison County.
The scene where she's holding the door handle of the lorry and it's absolutely pouring with rain.
It's heartbreaking.

Mere1 · 23/03/2021 17:42

Love Story
Truly, Madly Deeply
The Killing Fields

T0pcat7 · 23/03/2021 17:45

Lion or Philomena both are wonderful films

sugarapplelane · 23/03/2021 17:46

Schindler' List
Beaches
Life is Beautiful
Dead Poets Society
Lion
A Monster Calls
And the one that had me sobbing and sobbing the other day is Secret Life of Bees.

Alleycat1 · 23/03/2021 17:47

Soldier Blue.

waitingpatientlyforspring · 23/03/2021 17:47

I'm a big cry baby over most sad films. The one I cried at most in public ie the cinema was Armagedon. I don't think I've ever watched it and not cried.

I do cry at a anything is a loved character dies or someone a loved character loves dies. I'm quite empathetic and really feel the pain of others more than the pain of the person if that makes sense.

BabyItsAWildWorld · 23/03/2021 17:48

About Time.

When he chooses to go back to the beach with his son when he was 8.

FiniteSagacity · 23/03/2021 17:49

So many already said - I do cry at adverts though Grin
‘The Road’ stayed with me for ages. I don’t think I could read the book as I understand it doesn’t explain the cause of their situation (not that knowing would make it any less haunting). I’ve given far too much thought about what might happen in an apocalyptic scenario while I still have young children dependent on me for survival.

If I need a cry then Legends of the Fall is half a box of tissues easily.

Me too, every time I watch it

The book is just as lovely, and heartbreaking.

purpleme12 · 23/03/2021 17:54

The saddest film ever is A Monster Calls
Cried and cried and cried

Second saddest is I, Daniel Blake

Catpus · 23/03/2021 17:56

Man on Fire & Hachii

Regensburg · 23/03/2021 17:57

Agree with 49FiniteSagacity about Road... Truly horrific.
Goodbye Lenin is one of my favourite films of all time. It is funny, profound, and also heartbreaking.
Grave of the Fireflies.
Coco. I sob my heart out every time.

mrsbeeton999 · 23/03/2021 17:58
