What’s Happening In Your House?

My day has been an odd one so far & everything feels just not quite right - can’t explain it really. It hasn’t helped that I’ve had awful stomach ache & it’s really cold ( sea mist I think). I haven’t eaten anything so about to have an open sandwich. DH has made another amazing loaf. DD12 is painting Harry Potter Ravenclaw House panels on her bedroom wall. I was dreading the mess but she’s actually done a very neat job. She was standing on her bed admiring her work, stumbled then made me laugh by saying “ Don’t fall off your bed kids”. We were also amused by a bit of masking tape which had stuck to her light shade. This doesn’t sound like much but I treasure these shared moments as DD more or less lives in her room these days.
Just realised I hadn’t replaced my HRT patch so that explains some of the being out of sorts. Having a DIY tea as I forgot to defrost my lamb rogan josh, the pilau rice for both of us & the Naans. May buy a chicken to roast tomorrow.

DD1 is upstairs, probably playing on her ipod, DD2 is in the other room drawing a picture, DH has gone cycling.
I reluctantly agreed to swap shifts earlier and work tonight to solve a staffing crisis. I am tired already. I am about to go and start dinner, as I planned on something that takes ages to cook, then wash up again (dishwasher is broken), tidy up a bit, have dinner, wash DDs' hair, get changed and go to work. We celebrated the spring equinox with a picnic. It wasn't really picnic weather, so I am still a bit cold. I persuaded DC2 to do her homework. Not a very productive day.

DH is just back from a run and is in the shower. DS1 is on a zoom University interview. DS2 is watching TV. I'm on the sofa with the kindle intending to read a book but not actually getting to it.

This morning we did some cleaning, made fajitas for lunch and the DCs have been out in the garden.

Now the DCs are playing a Mario Kart tournament. DH is on the PC. I'm on the sofa on the laptop. The baby is asleep.

It's very calm, very peaceful (despite the jaunty game music), everyone is happy, it feels like a nice reward after a crappy few weeks.

I'm watching Rugby, the dc are on screens or doing homework and DH is pottering about.
Some chores done this morning.

DD11 outside playing, DH downstairs watching football, i'm upstairs watching seven brides for seven brothers with a glass of wine

Finally got an hour to myself at home , I am furloughed and DH is WFH so I just never get the house to myself .... which is my favourite thing sad. I am just sitting doing nothing really with a coffee, I have been quite busy today, walked into town, did some volunteering which I love as it gives me a purpose on furlough and lovely to meet and chat to like minded people, walked back home (about 75 mins walking total), cooking prep for a picnic tomorrow, ironing. ... thinking about starting a new jigsaw.

Not exactly exciting .

i’m sat on the sofa watching jurassic world with my seven year lay on on my lap, wrapped in the poorly blanket. poor little darling has covid and it seems to have hit him hard. i’ve never seen him so ill and he keeps crying that he just wishes he could feel better my boyfriend’s took the other three kids and the dogs down the fields for a walk but should be home soon - hopefully with a mcdonald’s!

I’m having a quiet day. Been in bed most of the day, apart from stint in hot tub with DH. Bought a bench for the garden and some pasta bowls on line. Having a ready made curry for dinner.

Dh is gaming. I am Mumsnetting. Ds1 is out on his bike. Ds2 is gaming. Dd is out with her friends.
I’ll have to go to the supermarket later. Cba.

We went for a really lovely, enjoyable family work at the local country park this morning. DC thoroughly enjoyed the outdoor assault course in the forest, as well as the chance to climb some trees and generally just be outside. Puppy was in her element running around with them!

Then popped to a local farm shop to buy some very nice bread, which we turned into fat egg mayonnaise sandwiches. May have also picked up some special treats and snacks. The farm shop is a very rare treat for me!

Now sat trying to do some reading for uni, whilst DH watches TV. DPup is asleep on the sofa with me. DC1 is in his room, gaming with friends. DC2 & 3 are in the cinema room behind me (unused dining room with cheap projector in, we're not mega rich!) playing minecraft together.

It's been a really lovely day here. Planning another walk at an NT place tomorrow, we're slightly skint in the run up to pay day to be honest, so need to keep costs down!

Oh and dd1 and 3 in their rooms. Dd2 out for a walk. Ds in his room.🙄

Have done the big shop this morning, then logged on for overtime work in the corner of my eldest DD’sbedroom. That’s my office space wfh. DH built a foldaway desk for youngest DD this morning for her and she has been camping out in her new corner most of the day. DH is now watching Rugby and I have my feet up and going to read my book. DH just said he is making tea - result. Having a beer tonight and going to watch Ant and Dec.

I'm laid on settee on various socials, H watching a film, DC 1 gaming in their room, DC 2 out on their bike with friends

DP and I have been for a bike ride. I'm now trying to warm up and eating chocolate.

DH and DD8 are watching Return of the Jedi. DD5 has been playing with Lego in a room next door as she's not really old enough to understand Star Wars girl . DDs made their own lunch (under DH's supervision) and ate with DH. I had lunch later on after doing a load of washing and then a burst of sewing - I'm no seamstress, but am proficient enough at repairing holes and tears in clothes (have to be in the mood for it though). We're all going out for a walk once the film's finished as long as it doesn't rain.

We're having a good day here after a shaky start thanks to dh finding that the dcat had brought us a live mouse in this morning when he went to get us our coffee which then proceeded to require a rescue mission of said mouse far too early on a Saturday morning and with no coffee!
Dh,dd and I went to Asda to buy Easter eggs for the many family members as I usually leave it too late so am proud I'm on it this year- massive massive queue to pay then we picked up some home covid tests on the way home.
Had a late lunch, dh now watching rugby, dd3 doing homework, I called dd2 and now I'm upstairs catching up on MasterChef with dcat .

DH dozing in front of the cricket. DSs playing some complicated made up game using the Forbidden Desert pieces on the living room floor. We’ve just had pastries for tea so I’m on Mumsnet and finishing a cup of tea.

Watching football with DP, cat trying to snooze on my lap but keep shouting at telly!

Did some yoga, went to the stables and rode my horse who was been a spring mare nightmare but seems to have got over it. Then DD came to have a lesson on her share pony who is a total sweetie and I want to put in my pocket. Now I'm at home under a heated blanket still in my riding gear and DD is on the sofa still in hers playing roblox.

We are both filthy. I can't muster any energy to do anything about it.

I need to set a microphone up in a room that has no bulb and a 100 year old light fitting. So I need to do it while there is daylight or find a bulb from the box of bulbs under the stairs.

None of this I can be arsed to do.

Very lazy day today, I'm sitting upstairs browsing on my phone and mindlessly watching (kind of) the rugby. I have no interest in rugby but the internet's shite and keeps going off and on so I can't watch netflix without it buffering every 20 seconds.

I'm having a burger for tea and maybe a glass of wine and some chocolate.

It was lovely weather this morning, so we decided to go to the local beach. Got there and it was freezing and foggy. DS splashed about in his wellies and puddlesuit then threw an almighty strop when we said it was time to go. We went down to the shops/restaurants and got some takeaway lunch, which we ate on a bench in the freezing cold.

DS then had a nap and woke up in an absolute rage, which has pretty much carried on for the rest of the day. I'm currently hiding in the kitchen cooking his tea while DP tries to keep him entertained.

Looking forward to toddler bedtime! The wine is in the fridge all ready

15yo dd is snuggled up next to her dad on the sofa and they are both watching the cricket.

I'm upstairs about to have a shower.

Dh left for work at half 5

I've cleaned bathrooms , changed beds, hoovered upstairs and made 16 yo dd change her bed and tidy room

Put pork shoulder on slow cooker for pulled pork dinner

Step and yoga classes online (hour of each) , followed by reading most of a book in the bath

Now halfway through 4 hours plus of rugby watching while drinking booze free beer and working my way through a huge family bag of posh crisps

Dh will get home at 7ish and we will have the pulled pork with oven chips before carrying on with rewatching line of duty from season 1

Front loaded the day with crap so that everything from noon has been lovely

Watching the Rugby and just about to put the chicken in the oven for dinner tonight. DH has taken kids out for a walk. Very chilled day so far just doing domestic duties such as washing (including curtains for a spring clean), sorting out kids wardrobes putting away winter coats etc ... and pottering around the garden.

Went to Costco today for a multipack of Method sprays and some flour (Manitoba strong white) which bread making-obsessed DH says is the best he's ever used.

Now home and jerk chicken for tonight's dinner is marinating to be cooked on the BBQ tonight!

I've been watching Kath & Kim on Netflix, DH is in the garage having a tidy of his tools and DS is in his room playing on the PS4.
