Do your children look like you or their dad?

We are expecting our first baby in August and I'm daydreaming about what he/she will look like.

DH and I are complete opposites lookswise, it's almost comical. Hes very tall with olive skin, brown eyes and jet black hair. I'm a short arse with green eyes and that pale blonde washed out look thing going on . I wonder if our baby will go to one of the two extremes or somewhere in the middle!

According to some people adult DS looks like Ian Somerhalder so he got a good deal!
He actually looks a bit like me and a bit like DH but not instantly recognisable. He has amazing blue eyes just like my dad. When he was little everyone said he looked just like DH, I couldn't really see it to any great extent if I'm honest. He's also tall and we aren't

Actually I a weird way my husband abd I are similar looking, both Olivey skin, tan easily, dark brown eyes and dark hair. All 3 of our children have our colouring obv but my eldest has big hair like he did when he was young whereas the other 2 had blonde which has changed to brown which is more like mine.

Facially we thought they all looked like me but having met his sisters (he's adopted) a few years ago my eldest is really like his sister. Tbh I look a bit like his sister too which is creepy!

DH and I are also very different looking. He has dark / olive skin. He is British heritage but randomly really dark and people often think he is Greek or Middle Eastern. I am blonde with very pale skin and light blue eyes.

We have 2 children. Ds1 has fair skin, dark blonde hair and brown eyes, and looks very like DH. Ds2 looks has my features, white blonde hair, dark blue eyes and DH’s olive skin.

It’s funny though as Ds1 looks like DH and Ds2 looks like me and yet they look very alike too.

My oldest 2 were with XH. He has blond hair , blue eyes. I have brown hair and eyes.
Eldest has red hair (?) and my eyes. Younger has his hair and eyes but my skin colour. Both are facially more like me (especially Dd).
Youngest 2 are with DH. He has brown hair and blue eyes.
Both are blond (?). One has my eyes, my colouring (but more tan) and is facially more like me, one has his eyes and colouring and is facially more like DH.

DD has always been very like me and has the exact same colouring as me. You can see a little bit more of DP in her as she gets older and she has his curls which Im secretly quite pleased about as I was always desperate for curly hair when I was a child!

Both my kids look like me. You wouldn't even know they're my husbands. They look nothing like him or his family .

2 look like me. 2 look like my husband.
People have approached my dd in the street before who she doesn’t know and asked how I am. Because we look so alike. I tell her she’s lucky.

Ds1 looks like Dh, very dark hair and same blue eye colour.
Ds2 looks like me as a child, blonde hair and although his eyes are blue they are heading toward green like mine which are pale green.

Neither of our kids look like either of us, but they do look like each other 🤨

One looks like me. One looks like dad. Yet they both look like each other!

Totally the same here. The school even get them mixed up yet one is like me and the other like his dad.

DC1 is the image of MIL except he has my colour eyes. DC2 looks like DC1 but not like MIL

Oldest looks like her Dad and youngest two look like me, which really makes me smile as they are adopted. Complete strangers have stopped me in the street to tell me my youngest is my spitting image. Love it.

Both DS's are spitting images of their Dads, though I have similar eye and hair colouring so think that helps

We have twin boys. One looks more like DH and one looks more like me, but they look so alike. And if you look at baby photos of both of us you can see the similarity of both of them. It’s so weird.

My ex and I were the same as you. Him dark and me deathly pale. I have two dcs. My ds looks like his dad and dd looks like me

My husband is a fair-complexioned Englishman and I am a dark-skinned Hispanic.

Our son looks like his paternal grandfather and our daughter looks like her paternal grandmother.

However, they are both have darker complexion like me.

My oldest child's father has fair-complexioned, green-eyed Hispanic man and our son looks just like him but with very dark complexion.

So none of my three children resemble me at all.

DS1 looks exactly like his dad but has my colouring.

DS2 is like my much skinnier twin but with his dad's colouring.

DC1 double of their dad, has a "look" of me but that's it. I'm convinced that first children in particular tend to favour their dads!

DC2 is literally nothing like DH (or sibling!). Not exactly my twin either, but definitely my side 💪

I see elements of various grandparents in mine, but behaviourally they're all their dad.

DD looks like DH’s mother

My son is the image of his dad, I call them my twins. Other people say they can see me in him as well but I don't see it

Bit of both. Though Ds1 has my thick, wavy hair and Ds2 has his dad's poker straight hair.
