If you were a tv remote control where would you hide..?

Not to be dramatic but I'm losing my mind here!

It's been missing for about 6 months, thank god for the spare we had but it's driving me crazy thinking a remote control can just vanish into thin air!

I've turned the house upside down for it on several occasions, searched everywhere I could possibly think. My house is organised and tidy so so I don't get where it could possibly be?!

Down the back of a radiator?

Under the sofa
Between the sofa cushions
In a wellie
In someone's bag or pocket

Have you taken the sofa/chairs apart? We have lost our remote deep down into our sofa. Turned the sofa over and there it was rattling around.

Has a small child walked off with it and put it on a toy box?

Down the side or back or underneath of the of chair/sofa cushions

Under furniture that has a gap big enough for it to fit under

If you have shelves could it have been placed on it with something on top

Is it possible that someone went out of the living room holding the remote control (maybe to answer the door, to make a cup of tea, to check on kids etc) and it got put down somewhere else and forgot about

Sofa is pulled apart daily thanks to toddler DD and there's no bits to it that stuff can fall down. Also checked all of said toddlers toys and room..

Radiators checked.

It's just bugging me!

I've searched the most random places. It's not like I even 'need' it, but I can't give up the search. I NEED to know where it's been hiding for this long!

Our remote always goes on walk about. Normally my dc. Found it in the kitchen, utility, bathroom etc, but normally we find it side/under the cushion on the sofa.

It went into a bag that has long since gone into the rubbish.

Are you looking at it right now? Are you sure you just have the spare out? You don't have both around somewhere but everytine you see it you assume it's the spare?

On the top of the fridge.

My DD likes posting the remotes under the sofa. If you have small children, think of ANYWHERE that something could be posted and have a look there!

In someone's shoes? Ds2 once lost his phone for a week and found it in his footy boot (only worn weekly). Unlikely fir six months tho.

My DC loved the remote so are you sure it's not been removed by a small child and put in a bag? Maybe a bag you use rarely esp ATM - swimming kit bag, gym bag?

you would have found it by now, but one of mine put the remote in the oven.

I wish whoever cooked that day had checked before preheating said oven

But any kitchen/bathroom cabinet, or the car might work.
It will turn up (unless toddler stuck it into a visitor's handbag who is still puzzled to this day. Or someone is getting divorced after finding "proof" of a second life...)

In the airing cupboard, between layers of infrequently used bedding.

At the back of the cloak room in a pocket of your gardening jacket.

In the box with all the old DVDs.

In the bookcase, behind that book you never finished reading.

In the fridge, in the very back of a cupboard, in the cistern of the loo, stuffed down in a shoe or boot nobody's worn in a while, down at the very bottom of a toy box?

Have you searched the car? The entire garden?

Or, as others have said, out with the rubbish ages ago :(

Mine has been gone about that amount of time and it’s a bugger. I don’t have a spare so having to actually get up and turn the input button on the tv like it’s 1985!

What remote is it OP? If its Sky Q, you can press the Q button on the Sky box and it beeps (if it still has any battery!)

This is where we found ours a few times.

Once after we had visited them mum mum text to ask if we had any idea where their remote might have gone. Told them to check the bin first and there it was.

If you haven't found it after 6 months it's gone.

My DH puts it in his pocket when he leaves the room so no one else gets it.
It hasn't left the room in that way and been in someone's pocket hanging in a cupboard for months.

I hid Fathers Day cards in my bedroom last year. To this day I haven't found them. The room is small with build in cupboards and one unit of drawers. I just don't get it

Places I’ve found the remote and other lost items with DCs in the house:

Play kitchen
Wellies
Bags, mine, theirs, school bags, shopping bags, no bag is off limits
Games, shark attack has been a gem in the past and it’s not always been fun finding things 🤢
Toys, Doc McStuffic medical mags a good one, so is the ice cream truck
Underwear draws, I usually find stollen food in these.
The back of my built in wardrobe in shoes I’ve not worn for years
In the dehumidifier, not kidding one dc was obsessed with hiding my keys in it.
Saucepans
Washing machine and dryer, will never forget drying a bunch of whites in a dryer my DCs has hidden a bar of chocolate in 🤦‍♀️
