If you haven't put a photo of your mum/wife on facebook on mothers day did it even happen?

Seems not.

OP posts:
RosemarysCat · 14/03/2021 18:57

I never post anything like that on FB. I send a card and present, but I hate SM gushing.

Jjacobb · 14/03/2021 19:06

I've had a lovely day and been spoiled rotten. I wouldn't dream of posting on SM neither would dh or dc.

SavoyCabbage · 14/03/2021 19:07

I've got messages from babies, teenagers who have supposedly posted on their mothers page and a photo of two headstones with a Happy Mothers Day filter.

megletsecond · 14/03/2021 19:08

I haven't even spoken to mine. We spoke yesterday when she got my card and called me to say thank you.

thefirstmrsrochester · 14/03/2021 19:10

My mum would be horrified if I put a pic of her of SM. And my DC know full well not to do the same to me. I posted a pic of my cat as she’s unlikely to give a hoot.

IHaveBrilloHair · 14/03/2021 19:12

Ah well I posted a photo of the card I got from my Dd.
Its because its my SM and I can post whatever I want on it.

This is the second post i have read complaining about fb posts today.

Honestly sm is for the individual to decide what they want to post. I haven't posted a picture of my Mum but don't judge those who do.

Theunamedcat · 14/03/2021 19:23

I dont have pictures of ne and my mum for Facebook 🤣 i put up a picture of my cat with his eyes bugging out explaining that he was shocked by my (unshown) naked son

Toddlerteaplease · 14/03/2021 19:33

My mum would be mortified if I posted on Facebook.

partyatthepalace · 14/03/2021 19:56

@SavoyCabbage

Please tell me you aren’t serious about the headstones...

britespark1 · 14/03/2021 20:02

My dad put a “Happy Mother’s Day” fb message to my dead Nan in the same post as his daily bike ride/self congratulatory/selfie post 🙈

Allmyarseandpeggymartin · 14/03/2021 20:08

I love seeing a picture of all the mums and kids, although it must be such an difficult day for some (my DH included)

Mother’s play an important part in our worlds what’s wrong with celebrating them?

tinytemper66 · 14/03/2021 20:15

My mother hates social media so I never post pictures of her. I am not on FB anyway.

Winterfellismyhome · 14/03/2021 20:20

God forbid people publicly celebrating their mums

Foxyloxy1plus1 · 14/03/2021 20:24

It smacks of virtue signalling, both from the sender and the receiver.

Mayormaynothavehadit · 14/03/2021 20:28

Foxyloxy1plus1

Virtue signalling?? About your mum?? That's hilarious 🤣

BalladOfBarryAndFreda · 14/03/2021 20:28

Headstones

Fuck me

mineofuselessinformation · 14/03/2021 20:34

I don't post Mother's Day stuff:
Someone I know very well went through the pain of infertility and then lost their only pregnancy. They will never have their own biological child - I don't think they need to have their nose rubbed in it, so I don't post.
It's entirely up to other people what they feel appropriate. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Larryslockdownlunch · 14/03/2021 20:34

If it's not on social media it didn't happen. Obviously.

elvislives2012 · 14/03/2021 20:34

I did it. I haven't seen my mum for months. I miss her and it's how I use SM. scroll past if it offends you

MrsBungle · 14/03/2021 20:36

I posted a picture of me and my mum from 20 years ago. She died long before I ever had my own kids and if I want to put a picture of us on my own social media I will. If anyone I’m friends with thinks I’m a dick for that I do hope they unfollow me. What the fuck does it matter to you. Unfollow, delete or just scroll on by.

we are not really a family

What does that mean?

ConeHat · 14/03/2021 21:35

If a tree falls in the forest and no one is near, does it make a sound?

Same for FB.

If you didnt post about it, it didnt happen.

On SM planet anyway. I try to avoid FB so I'm not sure I even exist any more

BeckyWithTheGoodHair5629456 · 14/03/2021 21:36

Well you're clearly miserable. I put a post up wishing my mum a happy Mother's Day, because she's bloody ace. I'll do what I want on my own social media.
