F1 2021 and we have a Schumacher on the grid again

In the absence of a F1 forum I'd like to chat about all things F1 Grand Prix.

How will the season go? How will the newest Schumacher fare ?

I can't wait for the first race.

I'm so excited about F1 this year. I used to be a massive Schumacher fan back in the 90s, I fell in love with home after his first race. My dad too me to the Belgian GP and to Silverstone a number of times, I was obsessed. I cried at school when Ayrton Senna died.

But not really been interested in F1 for about 15 years.

DH (who has never been much of a fan) said I should sit down and watch Drive to Survive on Netflix. And wow!! Back to a massive fan!!!

I think knowing the drivers so well and knowing who is there on merit and who is there because their family is loaded is so interesting.

DH had signed up to some dodgy TV thing so we get to watch it all for free.

Bring it on!!!

And I had a crush on Christian years ago but my gosh I could do some awful things with that man!!! He is utterly delicious. GrinGrinGrin

I'm not sure what @Moonlight22 means about Vettel being a dick? He was unable to get a decent second lap in Q1 as Mazepin span off and caused a yellow flag. I'm not sure why Vettel's first lap in Q1 wasn't any good though.

Mazapin is currently the most likely candidate for mobile extra hazard on the track now that Kvyat isn't around to take more competent drivers out whenever he has a sudden rush of blood to the head!

The better driver won. Brilliant to watch them race though, as they're so different. Verstappen needs to keep his cool of he's going to catch Hamilton. Red bull have a better car, Mercedes have a better team. Everything else is quits in my opinion.

I hope Mick does well in F1. He has a lot of pressure on him to live up to his dad ( who I wasn’t a fan of). I am a fan of Bottas although I think he hasn’t got the killer instinct to be a champion. I was a huge Mika Hakkinen fan back in the day.

We were on the edge of our seats at the end, that's how F1 should be. I wish that Max had won but his race will come.

Good race, glad Lewis came back up the pack to second, he owned up to making a mistake where he spun off, but pulled it out of the bag, just shows what a great driver he is.

Landon coming third made my day. Such a talent and hoping he goes far in the sport.

As for George Russell and Bottas - oops.

Yes I was pleased for Lando too.

Lewis does admit to mistakes, although he rarely makes any! He did well to get off the gravel and rejoin the race

F1 is really heating up for the last few races.

Max really should have been penalised for that ridiculous move on Lewis though. Other drivers have been penalised for very similar moves all season, the FIA really need to stay consistent. Max is really reckless, it worries me and the FIA not treating him the same as other drivers makes him more so in my opionion.

Any George Russell fans here? I'm looking forward to him having fast car next year, it's going to be exciting!

I agree, should have been a five second penalty for Verstappen. What a drive by Lewis Hamilton though - just incredible!

What did you think of the race yesterday everyone?
DP thinks Verstappen was intentionally trying to take Hamilton out. They are both great drivers but max worries me, he is so reckless and hot headed. Afraid there will be a bad accident. It has made me like Lewis more though, he is so skillfull.
Also thought perez was brilliant the week before, making his way through the pack multiple times!

My brain still hurts from it all. I thought that track was slightly terrifying and they'll need to make some changes for next year.
It looked very hard on the drivers and Angela was mopping Lewis's brow more than usual. But a great win for him with the damage he sustained. Toto's fury was clear for all to see wasn't it?

I can't work out what Max was trying to do as he braked when the instructions were coming through to give the place back.

Mazepin rear ending Russell-ouch!

I am also excited to see what happens Russell v Hamilton next year. DH thinks Russell will be stiff competition because he'll 'want it more' but I'm not sure I agree with that. I will be torn who to support though.

I thought Lewis looked like he had a headache sat with the cold flannel on his head...
I can't work out what max was trying to do either, why did he slow down so much? It was so exaggerated. And then shot off as soon as they made contact. I don't blame Lewis for hesitating to go past him. He didn't know what was going on and with max's history you can't trust him not to do something stupid/dangerous! Maybe I am being unfair though...
Yes also looking forward to seeing Russell in the Mercedes... I missed the race when he got that drive before...
