Where would you be??

I have looked all the places I thought it might be, plus those I would be surprised to see if and no joy. I've seen enough lost threads to know posters are excellent at suggesting places not thought of.

It has really important stuff in it that I can't recall enough to rewrite an I've been tearful about not being able to find it. I know it sounds ridiculous but it is so important.

top of wardrobe/fridge?

Somebody decided to helpfully insert it into a row of books on a shelf?

I lost my laptop earlier and it was with my pile of A4 notebooks. Could your notebook be with your laptop or in a bookshelf?

Fallen behind/down side of couch? With paperwork, bills, those you haven't filed?

Side of the bed. That's where I found my passport.

That's not entirely true, I was so desperate I googled 'how to find your passport' and read an article which recommended lying down, letting your mind wander and recalling all the places it could be and repeating the mantra 'your passport is not misplaced, you are'.

It actually worked, thank god!

Following with interest as I've recently lost an important notebook... and it's hardback A4, not sure how i did that

Behind the cushion on the sofa, that's where our notebook full of passwords, import info is kept / hidden.
We hope it's the last place a burglar would look and its easy to get to when we're watching TV and think we need to do something or check something

Inside a larger notebook or folder.

In the back of a unit? Fallen out the back of the drawer you keep it in?

Mine is hardback and A4 too, @TheHeathenOfSuburbia .

I can discount all but two suggestions so we'll see.

Could you have taken it out at some point and left it in the car?

I've just found mine, inspired by this thread!

It had got shoved into the Expedit box where the kids' home schooling stuff goes at the end of the day. I'd already checked among the books on the open shelves and the whole of the rest of the house, under beds, everything!

It is definitely not in the car. I checked earlier and it has never left the house. Just got upset again so tomorrow I will take your suggestions one by one and search.

For me the first places to look would be down the sides or behind the cushions on the sofa; under the bed; under a pillow or duvet; in a pile in the kitchen; in a bag.

I recently lost a notebook with the minutes to a very important board meeting. My husband had tidied it away into DS’ school stuff. I nearly had a heart attack while looking for it.

I too have lost an A4 hardback notebook. It has completely disappeared despite me spending most of yesterday looking for it. I feel a conspiracy theory coming on.

But I also second looking down the side and back of the bed. My passport was hiding there.
