And his obsession with Meghan Markle.

Good. Piers Morgan is obsessed with her. And Alex called it right.

Have the ratings dropped recently? A publiclity stunt. He's more than capable of spouting crap over someone else's argument. In fact it's pretty much his raison d'etre.

ohfourfoxache · 09/03/2021 09:00

So ITV have their “get Britain talking” campaign with the objective of helping the nation’s mental health, yet when someone says that they have suffered and have been suicidal they are lying?

Abhorrent little cunt Angry

I am intrigued about viewing figures. I don't think anyone sits down to watch the whole show. I have it on in the background during my morning routine but can't claim to be avidly 'watching'. But assume it counts as viewing.

ohfourfoxache · 09/03/2021 09:01

*PM I mean - I would hope that it’s not organisational across the whole of ITV

Chicchicchicchiclana · 09/03/2021 09:01

@Sparklingbrook

He's almost a Keith Lemon/Leigh Francis figure to me. A character, playing a part on GMB, saying what people want and expect. If he didn't act that way people would be disappointed.

He was on This Morning last week and was reasonably calm and affable, and I quite like his Life Stories series.

I agree with some of this. He's playing an exaggerated version of himself on TV, bit like a pantomime villain. But in all honesty it is the programme editor/s and the viewers themselves who have allowed it to continue. He could have been simply taken off air any time.

Yes I agree. They choose to keep him on because it's in their interests to. I would think some people don't tune in on the days it's not him on.

What a weird and obsessed man child, revelling in all his white male privilege. Very few things are so entirely disgusting
100% this.
Fgs1 · 09/03/2021 09:05

Piers is such a bad presenter anyway, he interrupts CONSTANTLY, is incredibly arrogant and I do wonder where this hatred of Meghan stems from.

KaptainKaveman · 09/03/2021 09:06

His hatred for MM is based on envy. He asked her out and she said no. Hell hath no fury like the White middle class British man scorned by the non-white American woman, eh?

Blobby10 · 09/03/2021 09:08

Piers Morgan had a go at Alex beresford the very first day he joined GMB - Alex bigged up his weather presenting role too much for Piers who told him to shut up and remember he's not the presenter (or words to that effect). I suspect their relationship has never recovered and Alex is (in my humble opinion quite rightly after his life experiences) very vocal about any form of racism

Sparklingbrook · 09/03/2021 09:08

Of course he interrupts-that's the part he plays. If he suddenly got all reasonable people would start turning it off.

I don't think he does hate Meghan I think it's all one big ranty act for the ratings as that's what is expected of him now and it gets people going.

He is a walking talking goady thread in AIBU posted by a PBP/troll. Grin

oldwhyno · 09/03/2021 09:08

don't usually watch it but turned over today (because car crash rubbernecking instinct) and after 3 minutes even my 7 year old said "Good Morning Britain is really bad""!

JustLyra · 09/03/2021 09:10

Did folks see how he spoke to Charlotte Hawkins this morning about her dress?

How the HR dept at that show let him away with his shit is beyond me.

MacDuffsMuff · 09/03/2021 09:10

He may well just have lost himself his job. Let's hope so.

Not because I love M & H - but because he's a gobshite with a God complex who thinks everyone needs to hang on HIS every word. He's shown himself for what he really is.

Londonnight · 09/03/2021 09:13

I like GMB, but if Piers Morgan is on I watch BBC 1 instead. When Piers in on it is all about him. The first 30 mins especially, he just drivels on and no one is allowed a word in edgeways.

Glad Alex took him down a peg or two.

LolaSmiles · 09/03/2021 09:18

I don't watch Good Morning Britain but that was brilliant.

Piers looks like a playground bully who doesn't like being stood up to.

Moondust001 · 09/03/2021 09:19

@longwayoff

Never heard of Alex Beresford before but what an example of how to present a calm and reasoned argument. Perfect. Please promote him at once.
I don't watch Piers, breakfast tv or even like the royal family - but I had to watch this link. Well done. A brilliant expose of a nasty piece of work who appears to be entirely incapable of taking a lot less than he hands out. It is impossible to not see Piers appalling behaviour and trashing of people, even when you have no interest. I am glad he has been called out publicly on it. Now I'd like to see his behaviour treated as what it is - unacceptable bullying for which he should be dismissed. Being a part of public media should infer no rights to act in a way that, if you acted in the same way to a colleague, would result in dismissal.
Sparklingbrook · 09/03/2021 09:19

Highly unlikely. That little bit of panto has no doubt gained them a few viewers and people going back to rewatch.

Frazzled2207 · 09/03/2021 09:21

Good on Alex except I do have an inkling it was staged.

Port1aCastis · 09/03/2021 09:21

He's a hate filled vulture earning his money through hating one woman, I hope she sues the arse of him and ruins him as that all he deserves.

Spot on.
FlaviaAlbiaWantsLangClegBack · 09/03/2021 09:23

Good for him! Good to see someone told Morgan to his face and so calmly and sensibly it makes the reaction look like a toddler being told no.

Piers Morgan has a disturbing level of obsession with her, cutting him off was the only sensible decision she could make. I bet the slightly creepy obsessive vibes didn't just appear out of nowhere afterwards.

SingToTheSky · 09/03/2021 09:25

@FudgeSundae

Are you... Are you saying... That he is just blaming it on the weatherman? Grin (Sorry)
:o

What a knob though. I have never watched GMB so I don’t know the back story, but Alex was very articulate and assertive. Great stuff.

I am intrigued about this friendship MM and PM had before?

HedgeOwl · 09/03/2021 09:25

@PilatesPeach

Wasn't Piers very pally with Meghan then when she got together with Harry, she ghosted him? Perhaps Piers have never got over that!! I find him a shouty & arrogant man. Can't watch him.
They had a few messages and met up like once? Why should she keep seeing him? Women don’t have to keep talking to anyone they don’t want to

Alex was spot on. Well done Alex.
