Eurovision 2021!

Anyone else looking forward to this? I know it's early but DD11 has been playing the songs all weekend and can't wait. Fingers crossed it can go ahead this year in some format.

I'm looking forward to it even though it looks like our trip to Rotterdam for the occasion will be cancelled like last year. Have been distinctly underwhelmed by the songs I've heard so far apart from Germany which has stuck. Need to listen to the others a few more times.

Not yet, mostly I have just heard DD's versions! Is the UK sending last year's winner? I'm in Italy and I'm a bit sad that we're not sending last year's - not to keen on this year's but maybe it will grow on me.

Sadly yes. Although it's apparently a bit more upbeat this year. It's released on Thursday.

"My Last Breath" was probably the most unfortunate song title of 2020. We certainly weren't singing it from our balconies Grin

I don't think they are allowed to use the same entry as last year? I loved that one too

Mainly gutted about Iceland's entry last year though, they so would have won

The rules state the same songs can't be entered more than once (or some such) which means every entry is different from last year. Iceland would have walked it last year - I even heard it on the radio here - so I wonder if their entry will win for them this year?

mathanxiety yes! Can't call myself a great fan, I just check out on the songs occasionally (in case there are great ones that I can add to my playlists or family Smartshow 3d videos as soundtracks), but this year I'm definitely watching.

I did think they did a great job last year, in the circumstances, with the replacement show, quite moving at the time.

I am a devotee! Absolutely loved Russia's from last year and thought they would have won.

I've not really heard many for this year other than Ukraine's which is just as weird and whiny as last year!!!

I love the French entry, although it's unlikely to win. I've listened to a couple of others, but am going to leave off listening to the rest until the contest. I'm so excited though!

Yay, kindred spirits!

I have been listening to Italy, Finland, Russia, Belgium, Ukraine Blush, and Iceland. Really hoping they end up in the top 10, maybe with Cyprus, Croatia, Azerbaijan, Lithuania.

The ones I like never win though. I loved Hatari from Iceland, and the Italian song that came second (Soldi) one year. Also several Belgian songs over the years. I thought last year's was great.

This year's UK entry is way better than last year's.

Hello 👋

I’ve had a listen the songs. The ones I like don’t seem to tally with the bookies odds at all. Especially Slovenia which has the dreaded second slot in the semi, and practically zero chance of getting to the final.
