Have seen an awful lot, some of which have been truly awful!

It needs to be available on sky cinema, prime or Netflix.

Please help me sort out my evenings entertainment Grin

Not a film, but a series, Ash v Evil Dead. Comedy horror and very funny. The earlier films with the same character are worth a watch as well.

I'm assuming you have BBC iplayer if you have Netflix and Prime? If so the Terror (10 part series) on there is new and really good! It's a drama/horror about a doomed trip to the Arctic. Make sure you free your diary up if you start watching though, it's very bingeable Grin

Borntohula · 07/03/2021 19:59

Last one I watched on Netflix was The Vigil which was pretty good.

All Netflix: Us, The Boy, Case 39 and The Visit

If, like me, you enjoy really tense psychological horrors, some good ones on Netflix are:

Creep (the one on a handheld video camera, not the London Underground one)
Creep 2
I See You
Hush
His House

BabloHoney · 07/03/2021 20:02

It Follows.

Not a film but the Haunting of Hill House on Netflix is REALLY creepy

Cabin in the woods

Not your traditional horror film and it’s one I really enjoyed. I’m picky with my horror. I prefer thriller to horror but sometimes, I enjoy some

rosesarered321 · 07/03/2021 21:05

On sky cinema, Us and You Should Have Left.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 07/03/2021 21:09

Not Threads! That's too far surely? Shock

Iremembertheelderlykoreanlady · 08/03/2021 00:02

Us is fantastic, seen that already. And Get out by the same director.

I've seen it follows too.

I'll definitely have a look at the series suggestions. Thanks all

We ended up watching Primevil about the real man eating crocodile gustav in Africa. Good bit of nonsense with some cracking one liners. Very jumpy, I did scream at one point and OH pissed himself at me 😅

2 truly scary films are the 'Unfriended' films.

Brahumbug · 08/03/2021 08:03

Posted to soon! They are as creepy as he'll and very contemporary.

thethoughtfox · 08/03/2021 08:06

Evil Dead is my favourite film. The remake is also very good.

GenderApostate19 · 08/03/2021 09:45

I watched the new ‘Wrong turn’ at the weekend. It’s got some clever ‘shockers’ in it and some very unexpected moments.

FlyingByTheSeatof · 08/03/2021 09:56

Hostel is good

peak2021 · 08/03/2021 10:38

The Mrs Browns Boys movie is a horror- well even the idea that such transphobic foul mouthed rubbish was ever made.

I like the wrong turn films! Where can I watch that @GenderApostate19?

What are they up to? Wrong turn 7??

Evil dead and hostel have been added to my list. Thanks!

I've seen unfriended. Didn't find it very scary

Ghost stories
The conjuring
Insidious
Babadoc
Salem’s lott

FoxgloveBee · 08/03/2021 11:57

I love suspense / psychological horror! I loved Creep, Creep 2, Midsomer and It Follows (although I don't normally enjoy supernatural type ones, this was different and totally original).

I also love the French film Ils.

It's really hard to find a good one so I'll be following this thread.

Blacktothepink · 08/03/2021 11:57

Sinister
Hereditary

RosieLemonade · 08/03/2021 12:18

@thethoughtfox

Evil Dead is my favourite film. The remake is also very good.
I too love Evil Dead and the sequels. Miss Honey from Matilda is in the third one. Ash vs Evil Dead is also great fun. The remake is very gory but doesn't have the spin on the final girl trope the others do.
GenderApostate19 · 08/03/2021 12:41

Any of the pay to view sites have Wrong turn - google play/ prime etc.

Needhelp101 · 08/03/2021 12:45

The Babadook.
Little Monsters (more of a comedy horror though, like Shaun of the Dead).
Love The Cabin in the Woods! It's bonkers 😁
