This is wonderful news, let’s hope she can come home to her family as soon as possible.

If we owe them £400 million why the hell don't we pay it. Apparently they did pay the money and we didn't deliver the goods, couldn't because of sanctions, so we should pay. How can she be sacrificed.

bourbonne · 07/03/2021 12:43

Apparently we are now seeking to pay it, but it's not so straightforward to do? Article here, not sure I'm much the wiser.

I feel absolutely sick for her and her family. What do you tell a little girl. What absolute bastards the Iran government are, and what ineffective twats our own government are.

Praying that she is allowed to come home at last.

FedNlanders · 07/03/2021 12:46

What, so she isn't actually free? Omg

PanamaPattie · 07/03/2021 12:48

They will find any excuse to keep her.

PatchworkElmer · 07/03/2021 12:48

It’s not good news (yet) unfortunately. He sentence was due to end today anyway- they’ve released her without her passport, and summoned her to court on new charges next week.

peak2021 · 07/03/2021 12:52

Not in prison but not free to come to the UK, and possibly could be back in jail.

I wish Mr Johnson was in prison instead of her.

Gowherewindandfiremeettogether · 07/03/2021 12:54

If this is true it's amazing news SmileDaffodil

Gowherewindandfiremeettogether · 07/03/2021 12:56

Just read the whole thread 😐 hope that she doesn't get recharged with anything and that she can finally come home to her family Thanks

It's true after a fashion but she's back in court next Sunday, uk mother's day as well.
sergeilavrov · 07/03/2021 12:56

I don’t understand why the UK doesn’t feel capable of exfiltrating her. Why spend so much money and time investing in these capabilities if you won’t use them to rescue British citizens? It would mean banning other dual national citizens from going to Iran with immediate effect (something that could be done subtly at the moment in advance), a cost of safety many already live with.

This was before the revolution (hope they don’t want interest). The county is desperate for money - the same nations are hurting the ordinary people, not the revolutionary guard and the mullahs only want to keep on the gravy train.

I can only imaging what trumped up case they have created for her. I hope to god they ‘let’ her escape before her next court attendance. She won’t ever see her parents again will she?

brokengate · 07/03/2021 13:09

This is horrific. I was reading the timeline. So the daughter stays with her parents until 2019. Eventually she gets back to dad and yet still no mum. She seems to have been living with her parents for around a year on house arrest. Now more charges. Makes me sick. That poor poor family. What now? Back to prison again.

MuddyWalks · 07/03/2021 13:14

That's brilliant

MuddyWalks · 07/03/2021 13:15

Oh no. Just seen she hasn't been allowed her passport and has to face another case in court on Monday.

IheartSundays · 07/03/2021 13:18

This is terrible. The long awaited date but no resolution with further charges hanging over her. How sad for her and her family. I'm glad she is in her family home rather than prison, the uncertainty must be awful.

Akire · 07/03/2021 13:19

Oh wonderful though I’m holding off until she really is on UK soil again.

Doomsdayiscoming · 07/03/2021 13:26

And this is why you don’t elect an incompetent idiot to run a country.

He knows he can’t say anything because of his previous fuck up. Yet this is the exact time he needs to speak up.

GrouchyKiwi · 07/03/2021 13:32

The UK govt should extract her. I'm sure they could if they really wanted to.

Happylittlethoughts · 07/03/2021 13:33

I'm not so sure ... they've taken off her tag , but theres more to face tomorrow

ssd · 07/03/2021 13:35

Oh fabulous news

You're joking
Farthingale · 07/03/2021 13:40

I was excited when I saw your post, but having googled it doesn't sound like she's out of the woods yet sadly.

blueleonburger · 07/03/2021 13:43

Until she is on British soil I’m going to hold my breath.
