This is wonderful news, let’s hope she can come home to her family as soon as possible.

Great news for her family

weebarra · 07/03/2021 12:24

BBC saying she has to go to court on a separate charge. Horrific.
Please let her go home to her family now.

kooked · 07/03/2021 12:25

It's not all good news, they obviously aren't planning on actually letting her go.

itsgettingwierd · 07/03/2021 12:25

Wow that's made my day in an otherwise locked down empty one of batch cooking!

Let's hope she's reunited with her husband and daughter ASAP

Clawdy · 07/03/2021 12:25

Very worrying about the court summons next week .

Tippexy · 07/03/2021 12:25

I’m really sorry to say this but it sounds like she’s going to be put back in jail.

UhtredRagnarson · 07/03/2021 12:26

@Tippexy

Released for a week then summoned back to court for more charges?

They’re absolute bastards.

I won’t be celebrating until she touches down on U.K. soil, sadly.

Oh I didn’t realise!! Not so good news then! She is still at risk of being imprisoned.
Longtalljosie · 07/03/2021 12:26

The BBC says she’s going to face a further court case - the one linked to Boris Johnson

OhWhyNot · 07/03/2021 12:26

Brilliant news

Downside a new court date on a separate charge so probably will not be able to leave the country according to BBC

Let hope the government step in (not Boris ffs)

kooked · 07/03/2021 12:26

I wish the uk could just swoop in there and get her before they put her back in prison.

*I know that won't happen!

Oh no AngrySad

Just read that as I typed.

What charges can she possibly be facing having been locked up for 5 years

PicsInRed · 07/03/2021 12:27

@ancientgran

More charges to face. Please God they don't put her back in prison. Psychological torture.
Oh for fuck's sake. It was such great news now this.

Is it true that the delay relates to a commercial dispute of some kind with the British Government? In other words, she's now effectively being ransomed?

AlexaShutUp · 07/03/2021 12:28

Oh gosh, I really hope they don't send her back to jail. That would be just awful. That poor woman and her family.

UhtredRagnarson · 07/03/2021 12:28

She was always being ransomed from the start. That’s why she was arrested to begin with.

ASchuylerSister · 07/03/2021 12:28

Have they given her passport back?

I heard on LBC this morning that Iran say (and a court has ruled) that the UK owes Iran money for some tanks they ordered.

A prison guard told Nazanin that this is why she was being held.

He should have retired from public life the minute he said what he said about her. Instead he pretended he just used clumsy wording - rather than admit talking absolute bollocks. Absolutely shameless.

I did wonder if they've taken the tags off so she could be spirited away and they don't get grief from the hardliners for letting her go but the whole issue resolved.

Come on GB do something.

LemonRoses · 07/03/2021 12:30

Sadly, she’s not released until she is free to return with her daughter to the U.K.
Johnson has much to answer for.

brizzling · 07/03/2021 12:30

Really? Really? I knew her sentence was finished today but really couldn't believe that she would be released at last,

ChaToilLeam · 07/03/2021 12:30

They are playing cat and mouse with her. Horrible.

Piccalino3 · 07/03/2021 12:30

I feel so upset to read she's facing further charges but no surprised. Poor poor woman and her family. God surely this has to be the end. Surely Britain has to do something?

kooked · 07/03/2021 12:31

I think it's been an open secret about the tank debt. From fairly early on they haven't denied it or chased the spying claims they got her on originally.

ancientgran · 07/03/2021 12:31

@bourbonne Boris never admits anything, the amazing thing is he seems to get away with it.

NoSquirrels · 07/03/2021 12:34

Our government must do something. It’s utterly heartbreaking.

bourbonne · 07/03/2021 12:34

Yes, it turns out if you're absolutely shameless these days, you can get away with anything.
