This isn't a royal family bashing thread..just interested to know how people would vote once the Queen has died and the was a vote on whether to keep the royal family or not.. a simple yes ( to keep ) or no.

But my vote would be cancelled out by dh and some of my friends.

Just to add, I would vote twice if I could. The Andrew business was the last straw for me. How can a mother, be it the queen or anyone else stand by and not push for justice. Its a horrific crime against underage girls and they are doing nothing. I have zero respect for the RF and the quicker they are gone the better.

Yes. Only because it would be such a massive hassle to dismantle it and set up new mechanisms by which to rubber stamp all our institutions.

However, I think the royal family are awful - none of them are massively bright, visionary or in tune with how we all live. Maybe prince Charles is a bit more visionarybthan the rest but he's so compromised that no-one really takes him seriously. They go through the motions of 'duty' but do with it with such obvious disdain; whether it's William grimacing at the general public or Kate's manic grin.
They spend all day getting their press offices to brief against each other and, during a pandemic when over 100,000 people in this country have died, haven't really done much to help us or loft our spirits. Except roll around Britain on their train in the wake of the second wave when none of us could see our families.

So, in short, keep the Monarchy, but pension them all off except the current incumbent. Get other, better people to be patrons of all our charities and organisations.
