To see a child is totally vaccinated before starting or does it depend if it’s a private nursery or school nursery ?

Being vaccinated isn't usually a criterion for starting nursery?

MrBullinaChinaShop · 03/03/2021 13:14

Hope not as I forgot to take our red book to all our vaccination appointments. He’s had them all though.

No

skidadle · 03/03/2021 13:16

No they don't. I have a nearly 2 year old in misery and my nearly 1 year old starts next week. They have never asked to see the red book

ZackaryQuack · 03/03/2021 13:17

Nursery never asked to see ds's, so I don't think so, unless some private ones do...

intheenddoesitreallymatter · 03/03/2021 13:18

No but at our local nurseries they ask if they’re vaccinated anyway.

nurseriess · 03/03/2021 13:19

My friend told me her pre school won’t admit children unless fully vaccinated
My dd is totally vaccinated plus c pox but is under assessment for ASD and has meltdowns now for anything medical so we are considering delaying a bit (not by long) to settle him to nursery but then I panicked ! What if they won’t let him

My nursery asked to take a copy of my son’s red book. Apparently it’s Ofsted best practice to hold copies of vaccination records. I haven’t done it though (keep forgetting!) and it hasn’t been mentioned since.

iluvpickles · 03/03/2021 13:23

Our private nursery has never even asked if they have had their jabs.

FedNlanders · 03/03/2021 13:23

Nope. Never been asked.

CatCup · 03/03/2021 13:23

No

AnnaSW1 · 03/03/2021 13:23

Hey asked me to confirm they were vaccinated but did not ask to see the red book

MillyMinamino · 03/03/2021 13:23

Mine wanted to see the red book so they could check vaccinations and also the development questionnaires from the health visitor.
They didn't exclude anyone if they had missing vaccinations though, they just wanted a record of them.

nurseriess · 03/03/2021 13:25

My friends one wont admit unless fully vaccinated i was so worried it was the same everywhere
We are going to do them btw just once he’s settled

In my experience they ask what vaccines they've had on the registration form but that's it really.

nurseriess · 03/03/2021 13:30

This is what I expected but here is a ban on non or not fully vaccinated children

nurseriess · 03/03/2021 13:38

We just want to delay a bit he starts after Easter so prob only delay by 3 -6 months maybe

ThePricklySheep · 03/03/2021 13:38

There’s quite a window for the 3 year 4 months one I think though.

FuckyouBrennan · 03/03/2021 13:42

Ours has a form you have to sign to say they’ve had them all.

Jemma2907 · 03/03/2021 13:44

Our private nursery asked to see the red book for vaccination evidence as part of the registration process.
