To see a child is totally vaccinated before starting or does it depend if it’s a private nursery or school nursery ?

@ThePricklySheep

There’s quite a window for the 3 year 4 months one I think though.
My friend was told all have to be done at earliest time or no entry

In Ireland, I've always been asked and if not up-to-date, there would be an issue for sure, but not sure exactly what. (Nurseries are broadly private here, no state ones, tho there are some community-run crèches).

I think delaying the vaccinations is a bad idea anyway, meltdowns or not. I can't really see what'll change in 3 to 6 months in terms of his behaviour / response to them.

He suffers temporary sight loss after meltdowns so we are trying to do everything we can to avoid any triggers for them at the moment

Our nursery never asked, (but my son had all of his).

How on earth can they prove "earliest time"? You don't get to dictate when you have your pre-school vaccinations. DD didn't have hers until she was 4 as that was when she was offered.

Exactly this. We didn’t get invited for DD’s pre school boosters until she was nearly 4.

They take children from 2 so expect all vaccinations done then of a child reaches 3y4m they need to prove they’ve been done or if starting after that point they have be vaccinated or can’t start until it’s done

Apparently it’s up to the parent to chase the appt for 3y4m ?

Yes, I can imagine the conversation Parent: I'd like to organise a vaccination appointment for my DC Medical receptionist: Have you had a letter about this? Parent: No, but she's the minimum age now Medical receptionist: We work through in age order; you'll be contacted in due course. Good bye.

... let alone factoring in any Covid related delays.

I've done a lot of chasing of NHS appointments this last year. The only time it helps is when they've "lost" you and you've missed out on an earlier appointment you should have had (although this is of course, stringently denied).

nurseriess · 03/03/2021 14:26

Yes exactly things are so delayed due to covid

If you’re not next on their list to do it, they won’t do it. You have to wait until it’s your ‘turn’.
YorkshireIndie · 03/03/2021 14:46

Never been asked to show vaccination record but was asked for history and why they have not been vaccinated if not vaccinated
