Is that why I had Cher on the brain for the shranrilas?

Duets?

NeedToKnow101 · 06/03/2021 18:59

@midgedude

Is it your birthday rogue?

According to my spreadsheet, Rogue's birthday is in April. I could be wrong though.

shinynewapple21 · 06/03/2021 20:12

@CoffeeBeansGalore

Π) If I should smile with sweet surprise It's just that you've grown up before my very eyes 60s

Happy birthday sweet sixteen, not sure by who, but solo male

Artist was Neil Sedaka

Funding your second list really annoying RoGue as all are vaguely familiar but not getting them

Is the very last one Move closer by Phylis Nelson ?

And the second from last is the kid of song shakin stevens would sing . The lyrics are something like 'just dream'

NeedToKnow101 · 06/03/2021 20:50

I can almost picture who sung It's my Party in the 80s .... she had big hair and shoulder pads, but then again so did most women, and most men.

shinynewapple21 · 06/03/2021 21:16

I think that the Shakin Stevens song , the one that sounds like shakin Stevens , the huckle buck, it's my party and the meatloaf one were all very early 80s , maybe 1981 , is that anything to do with the theme ?

Mary Wilson?
FlouncingBabooshka · 06/03/2021 21:41

It wasn’t Mari Wilson.

Whoever it was used to dress geisha style I think...

Was she called Barbara something?

FlouncingBabooshka · 06/03/2021 21:42

And she did it with Dave Stewart. I’m sure it was Barbara but just can’t remember the surname.

MNerGoneRogueAgain · 06/03/2021 21:48

I love your pain!!!! My work here is done. Is there a rubs hands in joy emoji?

Shiny, you're there. It IS the theme. Say it for the points

NeedToKnow101 · 06/03/2021 22:01

Yes, she has a really 'normal' name i think? Like a dental receptionist name, not a pop stars name (no disrespect to dental receptionists). Or maybe it's just the same as my dentist's receptionist???

shinynewapple21 · 06/03/2021 22:04

The theme is the songs are from 1981?

NeedToKnow101 · 06/03/2021 22:09

from that's what i call music 1981?

NeedToKnow101 · 06/03/2021 22:09

now thats.....

Honeyroar · 06/03/2021 22:13

There weren’t any Now that’s... albums in 1981 though.

Ah! Oops! Grin
CoffeeBeansGalore · 06/03/2021 22:34

I think the first Now album was 1983?

OP posts:
shinynewapple21 · 06/03/2021 22:53

We had a theme on first NTWICM a few threads back (don't remember whose theme it was sorry). It was 1983

shinynewapple21 · 07/03/2021 00:27

So the last one in your second theme (that I thought might be Phyllis nelson) is called

'How about us'
I don't know who sung it

CarnageAtTheCheeseFactory · 07/03/2021 02:34

No9 is Dave Stewart and Barbara Gaskin, I think.

I think that was a group called Champagne 🍾 .
CarnageAtTheCheeseFactory · 07/03/2021 02:39

Ah, I meant to send those to Roguey

No7 was Cliffy with Daddy’s home. Bleurghhhh

CarnageAtTheCheeseFactory · 07/03/2021 02:50

Number 4 is More than in love, Kate Robbins.
Took me a bit to remember her name..

Is it sung by Peabo Bryson and Roberta Flack?
Btw I quite liked this song but I think it's a contender for making Rogue sick in her mouth..

shinynewapple21 · 07/03/2021 10:02

Needtoknow I think Carnage is right and 'how bout us' was by Champagne. Are you thinking of 'Tonight I celebrate my love' with Peebo Bryson & Roberta Flack?

If Carnage is correct with Cliff Richard and Daddy's home that's an absolute cert for one that makes Rogue 🤮

And the second from last I thought sounded like Shakin Stevens is Alvin Stardust; the song is Pretend (just pretend?)
