A Jamaican restaurant please.

No, and in any case they are shut. Perhaps worth asking once they have all re-opened, in case some do not.

CaravaggioLover · 26/02/2021 11:37

Yes, all restaurants are shut at the moment. Unless you want a delivery?

SadderThanEeyore · 26/02/2021 12:13

Oh ffs the replies on here atm. Like the op doesn't realise. She could be asking for the summer / next year, why be so twatty?

Hope you get some decent replies op, some people seem to think they are on Aibu

BarbaraofSeville · 26/02/2021 12:29

If only there was a website that had reviews of restaurants already published on it.

Someone should start one up. Oh, wait.....

ShirleyPhallus · 26/02/2021 12:31

What on earth is everyone being such a dick to the OP for?! It’s a perfectly reasonable question.

Op, Rum Kitchen is excellent and they have different branches in London

maddy68 · 26/02/2021 12:35

Rum kitchen is great ;)

Jesus, since when did chat become so cunty.
I don’t know any Jamaican restaurants, but I hope you get some non-cunty replies.

FFS is it not possible to do both? This is a discussion forum after all. Is no one allowed to ask anything about say, travel or would you just dish out a twatty 'there's Tripadvisor for that' response 🙄.
RubyViolet · 26/02/2021 13:15

I wonder if she had asked for a different cuisine would the responses have been the same? 🤔

Rum kitchen is 😋

MarieFromStTropez · 26/02/2021 13:23

Well I booked a table at a restaurant yesterday for mid-April. Obviously if it’s not sage close to the time, we’ll cancel.

Also restaurants often offer takeaway.

Don’t get why people are being so rude.

Twospaniels · 26/02/2021 13:40

Jeepers!

I only asked a question!

It’s all very well looking on TripAdvisor and the like, but I thought a personal recommendation would be good.

YES, I know they’re shut at the moment!

I’m looking for a trip to London in November or December, if allowed of course.

Thank you to those who replied sensibly with recommendations.

And to the idiots, you can just do one 😡

Ma Petite Jamaica is incredible- in Camden.

Rum Kitchen is incredible in all locations (soho, shoreditch, brixton)- lovely staff and great food.

Jamaican Patty CO is near Leicester square- not dine-in but incredibly food.

wondarah · 26/02/2021 13:46

plus trip advisor often has shit recommendations

RubyViolet · 26/02/2021 13:54

I’ve booked a hairdresser in April, l think l will start booking restaurants/ pubs with outside dining too.
Why not ! It’s good to have things to look forward too .

BarbaraofSeville · 26/02/2021 13:56

Why is Trip Advisor more likely to give a 'shit recommendation' than on here? Genuine question.

Both Trip Advisor and Mumsnet allow anyone to say anything they like and nothing is checked for accuracy, impartiality etc.

Any one of the recommendations above could be by the owners of the restaurants in question.

Why would you take more notice of four Mumsnetters who happened to see this thread and have said that Rum Kitchen is great vs hundreds of people on TripAdvisor? Confused

wondarah · 26/02/2021 14:06

Why is Trip Advisor more likely to give a 'shit recommendation' than on here? Genuine question.

Because I think with Tripadvisor people go on & look at the top 10 or whatever, visit them & review & the cycle continues. Harder to find the little gems if that makes sense.

LaceyBetty · 26/02/2021 14:09

Wow, some of those first responses were ridiculous. I have loads of restaurant bookings already for later in the year.

speakout · 26/02/2021 14:10

Yum- I've never tried Jamacian food- it looks delicious.
