Is there ANYONE more affected than Gordon Ramsey?

Just that really.

Every single word - every single expression and movement is thought out. Drives me up the wall!

It's not just me is it?

He lives near me and always seems really happy and nice. He was very good humoured when my son cycled right into his unmentionables :)

Ilovemaisie · 24/02/2021 20:24

I like him. I love watching Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares. Quite frankly a lot of those restaurant owners need yelling at. Best episode ever is the Amy's Baking Company one. Fans of the show will know which episode I mean. It's a legend Grin

Loopyloututu2 · 24/02/2021 20:26

Dd and I used to watch Tilly Ramsey and proper take the piss (nepotism at its finest - I’m sure she’s a sweet girl but c’mon her own fucking cooking show??!) - imagine our surprise last year (or may have been the year before?) when we bumped into her in Padstow! Dd and I looked at one another and burst out laughing (after she was out of earshot of course) were so childish!

farfallarocks · 24/02/2021 20:27

I like the kitchen nightmares too! I thought they all came across really
Well in that programme where a celebs kid goes back to their parents home town. It was his son jack I think who goes back to his catering college. They seemed like a normal happy family!

WeeDangerousSpike · 24/02/2021 20:29

I quite like kitchen nightmares, but at the end where he stands outside and stares down and to the side almost the whole time he's talking winds me up. I reckon he's reading cue cards!

vintageyoda · 24/02/2021 20:32

The man is famous for humiliating and bullying people. I don't care if he's a good cook, he'll always be a twat in my eyes.

CoodleMoodle · 24/02/2021 20:35

I watched the UK Kitchen Nightmares when DS was a newborn and DD was at school. I really enjoyed them and he came across so well, as if he actually wanted to help the restaurants and staff to improve. He seemed to care a lot, especially for some of the young staff members who were just starting out. There were a couple of episodes that were quite emotional, even. (Although the very first one where the kitchen is an absolute dump and the chefs are ridiculously unaware of what they could possibly doing wrong... that one is a highlight, to say the least!)

When I'd finished, I started watched the US version but I couldn't get through more than a few episodes. It was all so over the top and seemed so fake, even if it wasn't. The UK version was calm and felt a lot more "real", and any exaggeration was slight. There was so much editing and cheesy music in the US ones, and I couldn't watch it.

Crankley · 24/02/2021 20:40

The ego is strong with this one Grin

But if you think he is egotistical you need to watch Masterchef US, he has nothing on some of the contestants. www.amazon.co.uk/Auditions-2/dp/B08KJ4FQ7Q/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&s=instant-video&crid=1O8N8GIGGL3A5&keywords=masterchef+us+season+1&sprefix=masterchef+us+%2Cinstant-video%2C203&tag=mumsnetforu03-21&qid=1614199082&sr=1-2

Trainerdilemma · 24/02/2021 20:42

@ginghamtablecloths I'd love to be stuck in a lift with him 🤣that’s all though, couldn’t live with or be married to him!

SplendidSuns1000 · 24/02/2021 20:46

Glad I'm not the only one who is irritated by him! I can't stand to see him cooking, the way he describes things gets right on my tits. "so we are GOING to just PUT the potatoes INTO the PAN LIKE so". He's a patronising little shit.

tillyandmilly · 24/02/2021 20:53

can't stand the man - vile!

NoProblem123 · 24/02/2021 20:54

Whatever he’s doing it’s obviously working - mediocre wanky cooking has made him a billionaire Envy

NuniaBeeswax · 24/02/2021 20:56

"Should have tried for Celtic, much lower standards"

😂

SomeRandomerOnBumsnet · 24/02/2021 21:03

He's a proper tool

Tana433 · 24/02/2021 21:08

Im obviously in a minority here but i love him. I find him very entertaining in a pompous, sweary way. Not too keen on this quiz show though, much prefer him in the kitchen doling out the obcenities!

Ilovemaisie · 24/02/2021 21:52

Tana but aren't you married to him? Grin

PanamaPattie · 24/02/2021 22:03

Can't stand the man. He behaved like a total tool in Cornwall last year - at his "full time" home.

Tana433 · 24/02/2021 22:17

@Ilovemaisie Lol, completely forgot that is his wife's name. I could probably handle him but no way could i cope with the football team of kids they have. Exhausting!

WishingHopingThinkingPraying · 24/02/2021 22:21

He's a cheat. Besides all the rest.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 24/02/2021 22:24

Marco Pierre White annoys me far more - he is so far up himself, he can see daylight.

Dh and I went to one of his restaurants, and ALL the art on the walls was gigantic pictures of himself. From almost all the seats in the restaurant, you had MPW glaring down at you as you ate.

StellaDendrite · 24/02/2021 22:26

He’s awful. So cringey. His eldest lad came across well on a tv show though.

BluTangClan · 24/02/2021 22:31

I always thought Tilly & the Ramsey Bunch was a Neighbour's spin-off when I've seen it on the EPG, never watched it.

GaryUnicorn · 25/02/2021 01:01

He is on some new quiz show, that I watched for a little while this evening. I only kept watching because the constants were a brother and sister who were lovely and I wanted them to win.
He had obviously been told to flick the sweary switch on his back, thank god. I can swear with the best of them but it gets so wearing when he does it every 10 seconds in his kitchen shows.
God knows how he got the gig; he was as bland as hell. Don’t think they will commission a second series.

Anordinarymum · 25/02/2021 02:16

Doesn't he have ADHD? I'm sure he does which explains why he is so jumpy

Effinell · 25/02/2021 06:45

He's the star guest announcer this week on Saturday Night Takeaway...
