Help me find a new program supposed to start on Amazon today

Gah, I have a rare couple of days and nights off and wanted to binge watch some new program on Amazon Prime. There was a trailer on social media yesterday but I was midway through doing something and missed the name of it. It looked really interesting and was supposed to start today. I cannot find it on Amazon and it is driving me mad. I wonder if anyone might recognise it and be able to help me. The trailer started with someone asking how old they thought an attractive woman was and the person was shocked to hear the woman in question was 61. She was some sort of scientist or doctor and offered these treatments to people to look incredibly young. However, it turns out that there is something very sinister involved in those youth treatments. Sadly, I just caught fragments while responding to a call and it’s really bugging me now. Does anyone have any suggestions or knows the name of the program?

No idea I'm afraid but I'm going to watch this thread as it sounds interesting 🤣

Theimpossiblegirl · 15/02/2021 19:56

No idea but it sounds like my cup of tea so blatantly placemarking.

This would be a clever marketing ploy. I too want to watch it.

HolaChicos · 15/02/2021 19:57

Yep, no idea either op, but I really want to watch it now too Grin

It isn’t Upload but that’s a good show that sounds a little bit similar and you’ll get through in no time :)

Ballstothis148 · 15/02/2021 20:00

That’s on amazon too!

Alonelonelyloner · 15/02/2021 20:01

Following with interest, but now info...

But yes Upload was good.

Crewtshirt · 15/02/2021 20:02

Yes Upload is good if you need a substitute.

AnotherKrampus · 15/02/2021 20:04

Have I just invented a program...? Hahaha, seriously though there definitely was an ad and I remember thinking that it sounded really intriguing, a bit the equivalent of 'Soylent Green', like the plot twist might be 'Retinol A is People' Grin

I have seen Upload.

The social experiment, or something to that effect?

happyhandstands · 15/02/2021 20:05

This might help? I couldn’t spot anything on the list myself but you might x

Redannie118 · 15/02/2021 20:10

Is it Sanctuary?

AnotherKrampus · 15/02/2021 20:11

Thank you happyhandstands I had already Googled that and nothing like it came up. I'm now even checking Netflix but am sure it was Amazon.

The Social Experiment is absolutely nothing like it. Bit puzzled how you thought of that tbh.

Redannie118 · 15/02/2021 20:13

Sanctuary is set in a locked down clinic in the alps.
Its actually on Starzplay which is a add on to Prime.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 15/02/2021 20:13

Is it Soulmates?

ScottishStottie · 15/02/2021 20:18

Is it the one where the trailer has a woman with a really high pitched girlie voice, and extreme facial plastic surgery? To the point of looking abnormal?

If it is, then i know the one you mean, seen trailers but cannot find it now, or remember the name haha.

AnotherKrampus · 15/02/2021 20:19

Checked Sanctuary and it doesn't look like it. Another bit, I remembered, was some older but not very old silver-hair man being on a gurney about to receive the treatment. The title was one word I believe.

Not Soulmates no, I did see the trailer for that and it's nothing like that. This is definitely about a doctor/scientist who offers some mysterious anti-ageing treatment that appears to be sinister with what looked like human guinea pigs or somehow being used for the treatment of these people in a way that was obviously harmful to them.

Was it Ratchet (netflix not prime though).

AnotherKrampus · 15/02/2021 20:51

No, I have seen the trailers for Ratched and the premise of the story being a prequel to the nasty nurse out of 'One flew over the Cuckoo's Nest'.

Just to reiterate this was a trailer that specifically seems to be about some sinister female scientist with some treatment for preventing ageing.

OP posts:
Binglebong · 15/02/2021 20:53

It sounds like the book The Trouble with Lichen! I'm curious to know the answer.

AnotherKrampus · 15/02/2021 21:03

@Binglebong That's an interesting suggestion but as far as I remember the book, the female protagonist was essentially acting for good and to empower women, whereas, in this trailer, the female scientist seems to be rather sinister and appears to use humans in some way to offer the rejuvenation & anti-ageing treatment.

I am still really sure it was Amazon and not Netflix and it said it was starting on Monday, which I presumed meant today unless it's later in the month. I have googled this much of today to no avail. It's really bugging me.

It sounds good

conkersarebonkers · 15/02/2021 21:46

Which social media site did you see it on? Would it be in your browser history if you checked back?
