How’s Your Valentines Day Going?

We’ve pared it right back this year with no presents but we exchanged cards & we’re having a steak dinner with sirloins that were already in the freezer. I picked up a Couples Quiz for £2 at Tescos. DH is reluctant but he’ll have a go for a me. Went to Asda & couldn’t resist a Valentines panda for DD12. She’s panda mad & has been feeling very down lately. Will catch up with DOI later & might choose a film if we’re not too sleepy. I went to bed at about 1am, despite being tired after a 7 hour shift.

Mr Bits came to bed at 5am, and is still in bed now. He's anti-Valentine's anyway, but this is extreme even for him.

I got a cuddle from the cat earlier, which doesn't normally happen, so that's something!

Had a lovely day. Nice card, chocolate and a lovely dinner. I set the table with fairly lights/candle/rose petals...‘‘twas lovely ❤️

Just spotted a stray “a” - go away!

Swapped cards, made ironic references to the significance of the Day as we went on the same old walk down the same old route. Made a cake, but that’s nothing to do with St Valentine, I just fancied a cake.

I love hearing what people have been upto!!

Apart from sickness drama with ds first thing, it's been a nice day.

I made dh toast and coffee and took it up to him in bed once we'd got ds sorted so we had family breakfast in bed this morning.

Dh and ds made cookies while I did some housework.

l made bubble and squeak with beans and cheese for dinner.

We'll be getting ds ready for bed shortly, once he is in bed asleep dh and I will snuggle on the sofa with hot chocolate and cookies and maybe watch a couple of supernatural before bed.

Nice and chill day.

Apart from exchanging cards it’s just been a normal day here.

We exchanged cards and DH got me some flowers and made me a nice breakfast. We don’t really do presents.

He’s been working today, so I took the opportunity to laze around, including an epic afternoon nap .

He’s on his way home with a takeaway for us and the kids. Won’t be candlelit romance, but it’s good enough for me!

DH is away working so just DC and I. They made me breakfast in bed which was lovely. I did get some roses from DH and a card, not expected at all as we don’t usually do anything.

DC and I now watching a film with chocolates and treats, they were excited by Valentines Day this year - any excuse for something different in lockdown 😂

We've had a nice relaxing day apart from the kids waking us up at 7am!!

DH bought me a dressing gown from John Lewis I have been really wanting and a new book. I bought him a couple of books he was after and a record.

We had a steak dinner and played monopoly with the kids.

I'm single and had a lovely 🤣 gave my son a card and cuddly toy. Then we made cards and cookies for my friend and parents.
Bath, wine, face mask and new pjs tonight!

We’ve had a good day (our valentines can be quite hit and miss so im making the most!). Dp made breakfast and we exchanged cards and small gifts. I got a chocolate orange and he got coco pops 😂
I decorated the landing this afternoon whilst he entertained the children and now we’re just waiting for them to go to bed so we can have our curry in peace (hahahhahahahaha! No chance... dd3 will definitely still be crawling round stealing my naan bread because sleep is for the weak!)

Got up spent 20 minutes trying to think what to write on a card for dh. Couldn't really think of anything sincere that wasn't coming off passive aggressive so put it back in the drawer. Gave him a book, 2 boxes of chocolates and a couple of deodorants he likes. Decided to take advantage of the fact my kids are lazy asses and put on a cobalt blue sexy bra and g string and had a quickie.

I did a yoga class after and dh arrived back from getting a coffee with a plant pot and lots of flowers and plants which he said were for valentines.

Have a roast sirloin in the oven with all the trimmings and ordered a treat box from a local gastro pub for after.

Went for a walk with dh and dog earlier. Kids on devices most of the day.

We had a date night last night with a lovely, finish at home, 4 course meal from a local restaurant. Today we spent the day baking with our DD, then got dressed up & had afternoon tea, my husband got his guitar out (not a euphemism!!) Been lush.

It’s been lovely, we exchanged cards and little presents this morning then I had roses delivered ♥️. We ordered an afternoon tea from our favourite place and went for a walk round the lake. We’re now watching miss congeniality and dosing in the settee 😂

We've had a pretty normal day tbh.

But now DC are in bed I'm currently a little bit dolled up with something extra nice beneath, listening to a love playlist (cringe I know), with a G&T in hand whilst DP cooks dinner. Fillet steak followed by crumble and custard, yay!

Had a lovely relaxing day. DP made lasagne-my favourite & now we’re watching a film.

We had ours last night - our fave restaurant was doing Valentines takeaway meals and the dc were with my mum.

So we got dressed up, had a lovely candlelit dinner and then a romantic evening..!

This morning I got flowers, perfume, a teddy dog (like the puppy we just reserved) and two cards.

It's been so lovely. My first ever romantic Valentine's Day and I'm 40!

Very nice quiet day here. Also had a steak dinner. Had the steak in the freezer so it wasn't a big fuss. I got flowers and cards. We went on a walk and to a local garden centre that was open for a look.

We don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day, it’s just been another Sunday here. Dh was poorly yesterday and still feeling a bit under the weather now. I took him up a cup of tea this morning, unusually (for him) he was still in bed at 8:30. We’ve had a walk, roast pork, relaxing in front of the fire now. Dh and ds are watching a film, I’m reading and MNing (will be heading to bed shortly), the dds are both in their rooms, just a nice Sunday.

Great day... I just polished off a bottle M&S pink Prosecco and had a little kitchen disco by myself while DH put the kids to bed 😆

I've had a lovely lazy day. DH and I exchanged cards and chocolates first thing this morning, then we had a lie in whilst DSs (4 and 7) played together and got their own breakfast. DH made lunch later then the kids played some more and I lay in bed reading because it was cold dark and windy and my bed is warm! Then I got the kids' dinner and made steak and chips for DH and I. We had some fizzy wine. Did bath and bedtime for the kids and then I had a bath with candles and DH has been watching a film. We watched a film together last night. Now we're all in bed and kids are asleep. Bliss!
