I'm going to the supermarket and I don't want to forget anything! What are the things you always forget?

Roll for that day’s lunch. Normally have a filling at home but I love a fresh bread roll.

TroysMammy · 13/02/2021 15:22

Stuff for lunch too. Breakfasts fine, dinners fine, lunches I struggle.

Sparkletastic · 13/02/2021 15:23

Olive oil
Bog roll

lightand · 13/02/2021 15:23

Stuff my DH wanted! Blush

TheGoodEnoughWife · 13/02/2021 15:23

Not always but today - caster sugar for pancake day pancakes. Remembered the plain flour but not the sugar. Have got some and can whizz up some normal sugar too so only tiny bit annoying!
(Yes, I know sugar is the evilest of evils but I like it on my pancakes!)

littlemissminor · 13/02/2021 15:26

I always forget Tin Foil / Clingfilm Hmm

Doublechins · 13/02/2021 15:26

Cleaning products like windolene etc.

VanGoghsDog · 13/02/2021 15:26

Butter. Because I froze some ages ago so never needed it and now I've run out and because I've not had to buy it for years I forget I need it regularly now.

Need to buy six and stick them in the freezer again.

SuperbGorgonzola · 13/02/2021 15:30

Bin bags

Tin foil

peboh · 13/02/2021 15:31

Lunch stuff here too. Things like cooked meats, wraps etc. I always just forget.
Oh and hun bags.

golddustwomen · 13/02/2021 15:35

Tin foil for me too!!

Scarby9 · 13/02/2021 15:39

Mr Sheen! I keep hsving a strange and unfamiliar urge to clean, but I ran out of anything but kitchen cleaner stuff about 3 weeks ago and keep forgetting to buy more.
And before anyone suggests it, I know I could damp dust, but the cleaning urge isn't that strong.

Crunchymum · 13/02/2021 15:44

Those shower puff things. Threw all of ours out with the idea of replacing them had all been washed a few times and were scraggy over a month ago.

Can't think of proper name to add them to online shop and forget on the rare occasions I actually venture out (which is maybe once a week for a top up shop and I may go local or to a bigger supermarket but I've forgotten the bloody shower things for weeks and weeks now!!)

Need to grab a prescription next week so will get them in Superdrug. If I remember Grin

AubergineDream · 13/02/2021 15:49

Thank you you've reminded me I need tin foil, sandwich bags, pancake day ingredients (lemons and caster sugar, but also extra eggs and flour)

I have a tonne of cleaning products though. I always forget to buy them. Always need bin bags though.

I could do with stopping at the pharmacy too. Always forget cooking oils. I don't like olive oil (love olives but not olive oil, maybe I'm buying the wrong one?) but could do with some oil spray and coconut oil. Plus something to stir fry with.

I also need cleanser, and moisturiser. But not shower pouffes as don't use them.

This is going to get expensive 😳

I write a list on my phone in the notes section. I get 3/4 of the way shopping and delete the things in my trolley off the list. I rarely forget anything.

BillieSpain · 13/02/2021 15:57

Kitchen roll

MessAllOver · 13/02/2021 16:19

Binbags.
Dishwasher tablets.

I'll quite often plan a meal around a certain meat and then forget to get the meat. So get everything for roast chicken or lamb stew (even including fresh herbs), but forget the chicken or lamb Blush.

AtleastitsnotMonday · 13/02/2021 16:35

I always forget Parmesan. I’m not a fan but others like it on pasta dishes and stuff. It’s not a sort of cheese board cheese and when I think of meals I tend to forget it because I don’t picture it on the finished product. Fortunately it lasts well so I tend to by a big piece so I can’t forget it too often!
I often forget eggs too because the supermarket I visit most puts them in the stupidest of places and I don’t go to that bit of the shop for anything else, so don’t wander by.

AubergineDream · 13/02/2021 16:44

Parmesan yes

And I might get some fresh herbs, always remember the meat but have no fresh herbs in. Got lots dried but no fresh

Toilet roll. Its a bit of a standing joke in the family. They text every time they are going shopping to see if I need any as they know id never remember.

ParkheadParadise · 13/02/2021 16:51

Every time I've been to the supermarket lately I forget to buy black pepper. Every time I return DH asks if I bought black pepper.
I'm going to stock up when I finally remember to buy it.

Theotherrudolph · 13/02/2021 16:54

I have a running list in the kitchen all week - when I open something I put it on the list to replace. Then we do an audit of the fruit, veg, milk etc and add anything specific for that week’s meals. I’d forget loads of stuff otherwise. Plus this way no one can complain x, y or z wasn’t bought - if you want it you need to put it on the list!

Msfoxy17 · 13/02/2021 16:57

Kitchen roll, washing up liquid, binbags, foil

uncomfortablydumb53 · 13/02/2021 17:19
