It's Saturday afternoon, I'm a single parent to 2 dc under 10, I got a lie in and they're on screens (again) but I'm so bloody bored 😭 I've had a really stressful week with work and was so looking forward to the weekend. But now it's here?!

I'm just about managing to stop myself from stuffing my face but it feels there isn't much other pleasure to be had. Anyone else feeling like this? And it's half term... 😭😭

Yep sat in hospital waiting to be discharged. This is the ultimate fucking boredom!

pinkearedcow · 13/02/2021 14:06

Yeah, freezing cold and snowy here so I don't feel like going out anywhere (as if there is anywhere fun to go!). There are lots of little things I could be doing, but I can't be arsed.

I have no kids to entertain! I think you are doing an amazing job holding it all together, it must be really hard.

pinkearedcow · 13/02/2021 14:07

Hope you are OK givemehope15

CoodleMoodle · 13/02/2021 14:11

Yep. 7yo and 2.5yo, going out of my mind slightly. I adore them both but neither of them ever stop talking or mithering me and I'm fed up.

All I want to do is slob on the sofa for a bit, but I can't because as soon as I get comfy one of them does the dreaded "Muuuuuuummmmm!" Sad

SallyParkersMum · 13/02/2021 14:12

I'm the same. Bored out of my mind, so I'm stuffing my face! I've done so well on my diet since Jan but all I've done all day is eat! Took the kids out earlier to stretch their legs and walked passed the local patisserie.... bad choice!

crankysaurus · 13/02/2021 14:13

Yep, paths are still snowy and icy and I'm unsteady on my feet. So very, very bored at being stuck inside.

Babyroobs · 13/02/2021 14:13

Yes extremely bored here too. Thought I would do an afternoon tea/ lunch for dh and my teens just to do something a bit different, but they have all been miserable and arguing, dog snatched the victoria sandwich off dd' s plate, brothers laughed and she's gone off in a huff !

I'm sorry but that was such a brilliant image that it made me laugh! I've given up doing nice things for mine. Professionally ungrateful kids are.

I just went to empty the washing machine (the excitement) and discovered I'd pressed the start button a bit too enthusiastically earlier...so it's been on pause for 3 hours! 🤦‍♀️

I'm bored to tears 😭 We attempted a walk earlier but it was hailing and so painful on the face! We've done board games loads of times, read every book in the house, baked tons of cakes and biscuits, done craft...but none of it is fun anymore, it's just a chore to get through to make the hours disappear! When I think back to what weekends used to be like it makes me so sad and I just hope we can get back to it one day.

Iwantmychairback · 13/02/2021 14:32

Yep. I’m bored too.
I did a bit of cleaning earlier and also a bit of work I brought home with me. I have a bit more of each to do, but if I do it today, I’ll have nothing to do tomorrow, so will be even more bored.
Its freezing cold and blowing a Gale here, so I don’t want to go out until I have to later, to walk dogs and sort horses out.

pinkearedcow · 13/02/2021 14:38

Oh, I am jealous Iwantmychairback I love horses. One of my fantasies is that if I ever win the lottery I will set up a donkey and horse sanctuary.

Tangledtresses · 13/02/2021 14:41

I'm so bored myself and my teen washed the walls earlier 😬 they had really greasy hand marks all up the stairs ...... I'm thinking of painting the hall cupboard later sigh......

Aposterhasnoname · 13/02/2021 14:47

Yes, bored shitless. DH has broken his foot so can’t even go for a walk. Sick to death of just work, cook and eat, watch telly, sleep, repeat.

mildlymiffed · 13/02/2021 14:49

Watching "how to train your dragon" with my ten year old son. FML.

That counts as a major event in our household!
DinosaurDiana · 13/02/2021 14:52

Bored, bored, bored.

OublietteBravo · 13/02/2021 14:53

Yes. I’ve been for 3 walks already today. Bored, bored, bored.

chocchipbrioche · 13/02/2021 14:56

Yep bored here too Sad
Thank god I have work to go to during the week as it keeps me happy and busy but the weekends are sooooooo long and monotonous.
No kids but live on my own renting one room in a house so not much to do and space to move around or tidy/rearrange/declutter.
Saturday for me consists of having a lie in, dragging my arse to the park for a run and then highlight of the week supermarket shop. The evening then turns into scrolling through Uber eats to find which takeaway to order and surfing through Netflix for something to watch.
Then comes Sunday with nothing left to do so I might get wrapped up and go for a walk and then it's back to the sofa for more tv.
Lack of doing anything much on Sunday then leads me to have insomnia on Sunday night and feel like a zombie on Monday morning going back to work.
Looking forward to things reopening.....whenever that will be ☹️

NatMoz · 13/02/2021 14:57

Husband has had a covid test and waiting on the results. He is quarantining in the spare bedroom so I just feed him at meal times and he sleeps the rest of the time.

I have no symptoms but also isolating (obviously) so can't even go for a walk!

OublietteBravo · 13/02/2021 15:03

I’ve been WFH for 11 months now. I barely see anyone face to face (other than my family). I don’t think I’ve spoken to anyone from outside my household in a non-virtual manner this week. Perhaps not even this month. I just seem to be existing in limbo.

Gottalovesummer · 13/02/2021 15:03

Oh me too. I have teenagers so they're doing their own thing.

I would love to have a mooch around the charity shops, spend an hour in the library choosing new books and then meet my friends in the pub for a late lunch and bottle of wine.

Sigh.

septemberismyfavouritemonth · 13/02/2021 15:08

We've had a lie in, ate a bacon sarnie for brunch, baked banana bread and got dressed up and made up to walk to the chemist! That's the extent of today until we have dominos later. Living the lockdown dream.

DuckyMcDuck · 13/02/2021 15:20

Day 8 of isolation in small bedroom with DS2 after positive COVID tests (I hear that with a Geordie accent Big Brother-like) -isolating from DH and DS1.

We have played every board game we own; are totally carded out and my eyes ache from screens.

3 more days to go.....

BobbinThreadbare123 · 13/02/2021 15:24

I've made a cake, done my ironing and cleaned the house. Rugby is on. I just want to walk somewhere else than round my neighbourhood and go to the bloody pub. I live in the fecking Lakes; we're awash with excellent pubs - none open - and walks - can't go in the car to them plus they shut the car parks!
