Morning all. Sat in bed with my coffee. No snow here thankfully
Grey and windy
Off out for yet another walk later
And then cooking roast chicken and some apple crumble and custard
Going to light the log burner
Today seems like a day to hunker down

I think I’ll get up and have a coffee in a minute too.

There’s a lovely muddy walk that goes past lists of friendly horses not far from us. I think I’ll watch church online then go for a muddy splashy walk.

We’ve got a nice stir-fry for tea. May try and fit in a movie at some point.

Ruddyfedup · 07/02/2021 09:26

I wanted to go for a walk today but i just let the chickens out and the winds freezing and vile. Id rather go back to bed

Hobnobswantshernameback · 07/02/2021 09:26

Sounds good
DH likes to listen to church online
I may well finally read yesterday's paper and do the crossword

Just sat down with a coffee Smile Going to make pancakes shortly for kids. Then a bit of a house tidy, out for a walk and then in work this after noon....

( when I say just sat down , its jot like I've been up and busy. Was just a monumental effort to get out of bed Grin)

Hobnobswantshernameback · 07/02/2021 09:27

Ruddyfedup I can hear the wind from my bed and suspect it's that horrible lazy wind that goes through you not round you as my mother used to say 🥶

Oooh apple crumble and custard! I need to make this today now I've read that, can't remember the last time we had one.

Ragwort · 07/02/2021 09:30

Coffee in bed here too, DH has been up for hours watching the cricket, I am aiming to do a Zoom church service - I don't do it every week as I don't find it particularly inspiring - I miss 'normal' church services. DH will probably catch up on some work. Then (yet another) walk to get some fresh air. Maybe a film this afternoon, planning a tapas style meal tonight .... and maybe another film.

Trying to find something to get excited about Grin.

Hobnobswantshernameback · 07/02/2021 09:30

I've got a pile of apples that need using and I was watching celebrity best home cook and they made it on there and I now must have apple crumble Grin

Shower, then coffee and surprise pastries to cheer everyone up (everyone seems to have woken up in a gloomy mood here....partly disappointment at no snow)

Hobnobswantshernameback · 07/02/2021 09:33

There's a nice bakery round the corner so could walk there and get nice pastries
Or could stick to our regular Greggs Grin

Morning all! Coffee in my armchair overlooking the garden. The cats have temporarily put aside their sibling rivalry and are roosting by my feet. Sleeting here. I have no plans to venture out. Leftover Indian for lunch, possibly with a G&T. That roast chicken sounds splendid!

Beecham · 07/02/2021 09:36

Also having coffee in bed. Will get up and do pancakes soon.
Kids are sooo disappointed the snow didn't happen. We had ski mittens out and sledges by the back door! Will have to settle for a muddy walk instead.
Highlight of the day will be epic roast pork with crackling tonight!

Hobnobswantshernameback · 07/02/2021 09:36

There's a thread on here asking if people think their mothers roast is the best
I darent post
Mine is the most fucking awesome roast ever Grin
To be fair my mother was a functional born pre-war lived through rationing food is fuel type of cook

Coffe in bed here too
I may go for a muddy walk but I've also got a new recipe to do that I'm looking forward to - mushroom and cashew loaf

Hobnobswantshernameback · 07/02/2021 09:49

Time for more coffee
Sounds bloody freezing outside
That walk is becoming less and less appealing SadGrin

Deciding if a walk to lift the spirits or a spot of kitchen cupboards' cleaning. Sounds weird but putting on joggers and doing some house cleaning works for me when outdoor exercise is not available. Although probably should not do ove do it on Sunday... We are ordering food in due to upcoming wedding anniversary. So no cooking to doWink

Chickychickydodah · 07/02/2021 10:02

We’re having coffee in bed and having a lazy morning too. The weather here is grey but it’s very peaceful, expecting snow later.
Enjoy your day

Isadora2007 · 07/02/2021 10:02

I’m lazing in bed with my coffee listening to dd playing with my dgs and feeling a little guilty at leaving her to it. DH is downstairs too so she’s not alone (she’s 12- dgs is 2).
I love a lazy Sunday though.

puppylambkins · 07/02/2021 10:09

I snook downstairs whilst DDog was still sleeping in bed to get coffee and lemsip, now back in bed and hes woke and looking attention. Hopefully after a few tummy rubs he'll doze off again so I can lie on for another half hour!

Hobnobswantshernameback · 07/02/2021 10:20

DH has just walked past John Inverdale in the park
How did I forget it was a six nations day here
Sad
Probably because I can't go and watch it with everyone in the pub
Sad

Yes, a lovely hunker down Sunday. Sleeting here which is a bit of an anti climax as were kind of led to believe we'd be waking up to a few cms of snow. DD at the moment engrossed with watching Scooby Doo.

I've just made myself another cuppa and DD and I have both had a mid morning treat of a couple of pain au chocolats. Oven is on, going to put the chicken in soon and now I am contemplating doing an apple crumble too!

I don't think we'll be going out for a walk as I heard from the weather report this morning that it will feel like -4 outside and I really don't do freezing cold unless the weather drastically changes and we do actually get some snow that's settled and then I'll go out with DD in the snow. I've started up the Adrienne yoga again (as have had no motivation to do any exercise since October) and will try and do a half an hour class this afternoon. Then probably a family movie and weather watching for some snow!
