You know when everything goes through a spell of being on its last legs? I moved in 15 years ago so everything has lasted well but I need to replace all of the following. They are all still working, they just have with broken bits.

The living room/ hall laminate floor - coming up by back door and rotting underneath.
Oven - broken grill, main hob ring at front has no temperate control
Fridge freezer- all plastic drawers in freezer and salad bowl have cracks and seals are broken.
Shed - floor rotted, and bottom layer.
My face - need Botox as I last had it a year ago. I look shocking all of a sudden).

I can probably save up £500 every 6 months. Which order please helpful ones?

  1. oven
  2. freezer
  3. shed
  4. face But that’s based on my own personal priorities so possibly no help to you OP 😜

Oven
Fridge
Floor

The other two aren't essential.

PenguinBarnotBird · 06/02/2021 18:52

Oops missed one
Insert living room floor at number 2

Thelnebriati · 06/02/2021 18:52

I'd do;
Fridge
Oven
Flooring
Shed
and spend the Botox money on a dehumidifier and gin.

boredwiththeoldname · 06/02/2021 18:54

Fridge - if seals are gone it's a food safety issue.
Oven - you need a working cooker.
Shed - otherwise stuff kept in there will be ruined, costing more money.
Laminate floor - important but not as important as above.
Botox - stop looking in the mirror!!!

Can you replace fridge/freezer seals?

FoxInSocks2 · 06/02/2021 18:57

oven
freezer
floor
shed

However, you can get a cheap fridge freezer for about £300 and a shed for similar depending on size. That means you could get the first three done in a year.

MyDcAreMarvel · 06/02/2021 18:57

I can’t take this post seriously, if you can’t afford to replace crucial items you couldn’t afford Botox a year ago. Is this a joke thread?

BertieBotts · 06/02/2021 18:58

I'd replace the smaller parts of the freezer as this should be cheap.

Then oven, then shed, then floor. Then freezer if I still wanted a new one.

I have no idea about the face as I've never looked into Botox so no idea how bad it looks, if it will get worse if not done vs just go back to a normal looking face etc. :o

Fridge freezer (if it suddenly breaks full of food you have a big problem.)

Floor/your back door (if your floor is rotting under the laminate you have a structural issue you need to look at.)

Oven (not quite as immediate if it breaks as a fridge but I’d say still pretty vital for day to day life)

Shed/face are more discretionary, personally I’d say shed but it rather depends what you use it for and how vain you are about your face.

Yes, have your finances dramatically changed in the last year?

Botox isn't a priority if money is tight. Even if you fork out for it, you'll only need to pay again, it's a money sink.

Slub · 06/02/2021 19:03

Botox obviously!
Gotta think of your insta followers hun Hmm

Rainbowqueeen · 06/02/2021 19:05

Fridge - food safety issue
Is laminate in living room a trip hazard and is shed rot going to cause damage to stuff inside? That would determine which order I would do those in
Oven
Savings pot for emergencies
Botox

wantmorenow · 06/02/2021 19:06

Yep, repair oven and fridge. I replaced my oven element for less than £40. Was simple. Fridge, hot repaired by local company for less than 100. They collected it repaired and returned in 3 days. Flooring need replaced. Buy cheap lino from marketplace or ebay. There are always cheaper alternatives

Thank you all.

In fairness Botox is the cheapest at £150 and stops people telling me how tired I look all the time. I look dreadful at the moment generally. I don’t do Insta or selfies of any sort but I do have a job where looking fresh is quite important.
The fridge seals still stick but are split so looks horrid and bits have git spilt inside.
I think maybe oven but tempted to leave it a year and get new flooring as that’s the most expensive. The floor underneath is concrete but the laminate is rotting so the room smells after a wet spell.

Maybe oven. Or floor then.

Check out Facebook marketplace for the fridge. Don't settle for something crap but you'll definitely find a better one than you have now for less than the Botox.

For the oven, do you have an industrial estate nearby? Check wholesalers and showrooms. Many have stock sitting there cheap if you ring and ask. We replaced an oven in a rental property for £35 last month.

The floor. I'd patch it for now.

The shed. Save for a brand new one.

Your face...who are these rude people telling you that you look tired?! Tell them to get to fuck
