There is some awful behaviour on here.

It breaks down badly at 4 minutes.

PI meaning private investigator - detective - can just see the arsey little man snooping around in a car, trying to catch out married men/women having affairs etc...

Oh, I feel really rather sad. I've never volunteered for anything like this because I suspected it would be like this, but I hoped I was wrong.

in which I think it was said that Aled, the worst angry shouty man, had formerly been a solicitor. Words fail me.

Surely there should be a quick and easy procedure to remove anyone who displayed such intemperate behaviour? How have we designed a system in which it's always the most difficult, angry, self-obsessed and bureaucratic/ legalistic people who take over? Why

It can be done differently. Not so long ago I'm sure I heard a programme on Radio 4 about a town council in Dorset (Bridport?) which had been taken over by community activists and was being run in a much more open and accessible way.

Aled used to be a solicitor - now is freelance PI. A bit like Magnum...

Watching episode 2 and just saw York Art Gallery on Twitter has already got the memes in.

We should have a petition for Jackie weaver to stand for the chair person position and take over from that twat.

Clerks cannot be Councillors and vice versa She does not live in the Parish She has a County wide job to do (see my links up thread)

Councillors can clerk a meeting- but they are not allowed to be paid. If they are to be paid as clerk they have to stand down and wait a year.

I've been a clerk, and a councillor, but in different councils.

As an unpaid position I can’t understand why anyone would put themselves through such stress and drama. They must be very civic minded.

I've attended some local council meetings & they were much calmer than this, but even so some of the things that were said took my breath away, e.g.

1. About something contentious which was under discussion & due to be built right outside people's homes: "They don't need to see the plans! They can see it when it's finished!"

1. After a member of the public made a courteous contribution to a council meeting, one councillor said to another, "Really! It makes you wonder who are the masters & who are the servants here!".

Jackie Weaver needs to be in the next Honours List.

I wish less women were familiar with such people as these. Mind you, I think 'people' is perhaps too kind a word for such despicable excuses for human beings.

According to the comments, one of those clowns is also a Borough/county councillor, and Mayor!

And the activities benefitting residents have been organised by other Cllrs, as the main three did nothing.

By the way, many of you have a Parish Council, and are entitled to see their minutes, agendas and much other info. You can also watch their meetings, albeit currently by zoom.

Why don't you check yours out? Chances are, yours will be boring. You may get lucky (or not) and find yours is rather like this!

Oh lord coproperty meetings... at mine they wanted to charge the people living in the upstairs flat extra for electricity because no one else got the benefit of the lightbulb going up the stairs.
