Can anyone help me with palindromes??

Hello. My husband has a palindromic birthday coming up (44) and it's a bit of a joke in our household that he finds being palindromic way too exciting!

So, in the absence of being able to do anything else on a lockdown birthday, I am trying to theme the day on palindromes.

Kids have bought him a DAD T-shirt, and I have got some TACOCAT beer and TANNAT wine. Thinking of having NAAN bread with one of the meals. I am also getting a melon and a lemon for the NO LEMON NO MELON sentence palindrome.

I am just wondering if anyone can think of any other good ideas, especially food/drink related. Would be nice to find a soft drink for the kids that is palindromic, and it wouldn't matter if it's a brand name.
Also a palindromic film?? I was hoping there might be a QI episode on palindromes but I can't seem to find one.

Any ideas?
....Blimey, birthdays have become a bit pathetic in the Covid era!

You could get him a voucher for a hotel in Navan in Ireland 😆😆

Something banana based for Ana, nab a banana. Play ABBA for background music.

Fruitinator · 02/02/2021 15:25

There is an entire poem that is a pallindrome. It's called Doppelganger by James Lindon.

What about the film Anna?

A man, a plan, a canal - Panama!

So you should watch a film about the building of the Panama canal.

FlibbertyGiblets · 02/02/2021 15:27

Panama hat.
A man, a plan, a canal, Panama!

Tenet is a palindromic film.
There's palindromic music. Most of it is classical, then there's Weird Al Yankovic.

The card game "Exploding Kittens" has a character called Taco Cat - you can get plushies. But if he doesn't already have the game it's a good one to play (if you have small children don't get the NSFW version).

SmidgenofaPigeon · 02/02/2021 15:33

You could dress up as an exotic dancer called....Hannah.

MacavityTheDentistsCat · 02/02/2021 15:34

Not exactly palindromic but how about a game of Snap? (i.e. the card game where you shout Snap! when two cards exactly the same come up?)

SparkysMagicPiano · 02/02/2021 15:35

This appears to be out of print, but it might be worth googling for some extracts - Palindromes and Anagrams by Howard W. Bergerson.

I think there are also a couple of novels that are entirely palindromic.

elephantoverthehill · 02/02/2021 15:36

Not very helpful but you may be able to work around it 'Madam, I'm Adam' and 'civic'

elephantoverthehill · 02/02/2021 15:37

Oh and there's a Monty Python sketch surrounding ' but the palindrome of Bolton is notlob'.

Longdistance · 02/02/2021 15:47

If his name is Robert, Trebor mints would be right up his street.

MacavityTheDentistsCat · 02/02/2021 15:49

If you play Abba as backround music as per PP, you'll definitely need the song SOS Wink.

LochJessMonster · 02/02/2021 15:56

@Longdistance

If his name is Robert, Trebor mints would be right up his street.
That would be amazing
MacavityTheDentistsCat · 02/02/2021 15:59

Can anyone help me with palindromes??
TeenMinusTests · 02/02/2021 19:06

Able was I ere I saw Elba

Girl, bathing on Bikini eyeing man, sees man eyeing bikini on bathing girl!

You can also notice that the 11x table brings up some lovely palindromes. For example
11, 121, 123321, 12344321, 121121121 are all divisible by 11.
