@Unreasonabubble - The application processes can be a bit of a palaver: forms first, then a couple of phone interviews, general knowledge quiz over the phone. If you get past that it's audition day where they see what you're like in person, how you interact, whether you're 'fun & interesting', some more quizzes & a mini version of the game. THEN if that goes well maybe another phone interview.
It's really good being a contestant. You get your travel paid / reimbursed and sometimes overnight accommodation. They feed you during the day as well.
It's great having your make up done, and you take several choices of outfit with you so they choose the best ones. Then they take them away and give them a professional press!
Backstage teams are all lovely but it can be a long day. I left at 6am to get to The Chase, three trains, got home at 11pm!
Bradley Walsh is very lovely. There was a lot cut out where we'd been having a good laugh. Same with Alexander Armstrong & Richard Osman who were both brilliant.
We got through to the final round of Pointless on our second 'day' (they film 4 or 5 episodes every day) and got the trophy, but on our final question it went down to TWO!!
I got timed out against The Beast on my last Chase question, sadly.
