Like Pointless, The Chase etc?

Would have to be the wall, the amounts you can win on there are crazy!

CarolNoE · 31/01/2021 17:36

The Chase..in the hope Bradley would get the giggles like the classic "which female skier....a b or c- fanny schemer. Always comes up on Auntie's Blooper type programmes. He sounds like Mutley and Dastardly when he cracks up.

Mydogisagentleman · 31/01/2021 17:38

Probably the chase

The Wheel. I’m not bothered about winning any money really, I just want to pop up and down and spin.

LaPoesieEstDansLaRue · 31/01/2021 18:28

Pointless. Not big prize money but I love it (also could do it with DP)

OrangeBananaFish · 31/01/2021 18:33

Who wants to be a millionaire, but I'd probably not get past fastest finger first or The Chase, but again I'd probably get caught. I don't have a lot of faith in myself.

TeenPlusTwenties · 31/01/2021 18:37

I think The Wheel would be good. It has a good expected value of win for not a lot of knowledge. You can win big on 1 question only, not many shows give you that.

Chicchicchicchiclana · 31/01/2021 18:42

I like Pointless but no one ever seems to win much money, it's very difficult in the final round! Good old BBC, haven't got pots of cash to give away Smile.

Love Catchphrase. It's so much fun and Stephen is a great host - makes me laugh. Some episodes, I think "I could do that" and others, not so much. It would be just my luck to go and have one of the hardest episodes ever!

HPandTheNeverEndingBedtime · 31/01/2021 18:47

I love Richard Osmans House of Games would live to have a go at that. But Id prob have the best luck at Catchphrase.

iklboo · 31/01/2021 18:49

I've been on Pointless and The Chase. Thinking of maybe applying for The Wall (or The Wo as Danny Dyer calls it) with DH or Tipping Point.

visitorfromtheplanetzog · 31/01/2021 18:49

Probably Pointless.

The others are either too highbrow (Mastermind etc) or are just daft gameshows dressed up as quizzes.

WitchDancer · 31/01/2021 18:52

Tipping Point - I've got a chance of answering those questions 😂

BobbinAround · 31/01/2021 19:02

Due to lockdown I've given this far too much thought and would go for Tipping Point,

The Chase is too reliant on others and they don't win 'big' very often, there's lots of money on Millionaire but fiendishly difficult to get in the hot seat, Pointless contestants never seem to win much and I can't be doing with all of the shouting at the Wall and then the emotional conversation at the end.

When I get time (and get really bored) I'm going to have a spreadsheet showing how often the winner goes home with cash, the amount won, the likelihood of making it to the final round and the difficulty of getting on the show in the first place.

Unreasonabubble · 31/01/2021 19:11

@iklboo What was it like being a contestant? Did you have a really interesting day? And most importantly, did you win? Grin

P.S. Thank you for the pouch information on another thread.

zebrapig · 31/01/2021 19:11

I've been accepted as a contestant on a new game show. Reckon I have slim chance of winning anything but it should be a fun day out when they can actually get round to filming it!

Arobase · 31/01/2021 19:13

Probably Pointless, because the presenters always seem such fun.

H1978 · 31/01/2021 19:25

I’d love to go on either the Crystal maze or family fortunes.

ApolloandDaphne · 31/01/2021 19:26

Tipping Point for me. I love that show.

iklboo · 31/01/2021 19:27

@Unreasonabubble - The application processes can be a bit of a palaver: forms first, then a couple of phone interviews, general knowledge quiz over the phone. If you get past that it's audition day where they see what you're like in person, how you interact, whether you're 'fun & interesting', some more quizzes & a mini version of the game. THEN if that goes well maybe another phone interview.

It's really good being a contestant. You get your travel paid / reimbursed and sometimes overnight accommodation. They feed you during the day as well.

It's great having your make up done, and you take several choices of outfit with you so they choose the best ones. Then they take them away and give them a professional press!

Backstage teams are all lovely but it can be a long day. I left at 6am to get to The Chase, three trains, got home at 11pm!

Bradley Walsh is very lovely. There was a lot cut out where we'd been having a good laugh. Same with Alexander Armstrong & Richard Osman who were both brilliant.

We got through to the final round of Pointless on our second 'day' (they film 4 or 5 episodes every day) and got the trophy, but on our final question it went down to TWO!!

I got timed out against The Beast on my last Chase question, sadly.

angelopal · 31/01/2021 19:28

Catchphrase or crystal maze.

Swimmingwiththebees · 31/01/2021 19:29

Would love to do The Circle

HomeschooIerRockthemicrophone · 31/01/2021 19:30

Pointless and The Wheel. I badly want to go on both but filming nowhere near me unfortunately.

LubaLuca · 31/01/2021 19:32

The Chase. I love watching it, and there's a chance of winning a decent prize. I think I'd enjoy it even if I didn't win anything - they seem like a good bunch of people.

jambeforeclottedcream · 31/01/2021 19:34

Pointless, the wall, the wheel, possibly mastermind depending on what specialist subject I could have

If I was a celeb I'd love to be in House of Games or defo mastermind
