Want to come? I think start off with a lovely coffee and just watch the people rushing by....then what next?

Oh a spa day next weekend I’m keen specially if there’s a pool. Book me in for a back massage and a manicure, is it the fun sort of spa where you can have wine with your healthy lunch?

peasinmysoup · 30/01/2021 21:44

I'm goi g on my own to the cinema to watch either black widow or a quiet place 2.
I'm going to eat my weight in popcorn and drink a ridiculous size coke.

I might head to Victoria secrets to get new bras for me and dd.

BrightYellowDaffodil · 30/01/2021 21:44

Stuff shopping, I’ll be off to a festival to dance like a loon in a sweaty tent full of people. Thousand of people packed in together? Bring it on Grin

purplecorkheart · 30/01/2021 21:46

I am going to ring that lovely hair salon that is near the coffee shop that can always have slots for a wash and blowdry with a fab hair massage. Then I am going to pop into that little charity book shop across the road that always has the most amazing selection of quirky books, I will buy a few and leave a donation as they seriously under - price their books. I may then pop into a little skin care store to stock up and then take advantage of their free mini facial. Next would be lunch in my favourite restaurant. I need to land at least 15 mins before they open though to get a window table. I am going to order my favourite dish although I know I should try something new. I will linger over my meal and a glass of wine taking opportunity of the best people watching place in the city. Then I am going to into M&S and pick up some nice foodie bits that I cannot get locally. Then head home

Fairydustrust · 30/01/2021 21:46

@FellowFlipFlop. Think there's going to be a few of us. Can you drive a coach?

@Chalkcheese you've clearly been locked down with too much children's tv, you can have as many Percy Pigs as you can carry but absolutely no Peppas. And of course scones, in fact I've also got my birthday afternoon tea voucher to use so they're covered too.

covetingthepreciousthings · 30/01/2021 21:47

Serious question, can you legitimately return items that have heavily pilled as faulty or is it considered normal wear & tear? Bought a £70 jumpsuit that now looks awful after 1 wear

Yes I would have thought so - depending how long you've had it. Definitely contact customer services @sofiaaaaaa

Lifeinaonesie · 30/01/2021 21:47

Sorry, can't. I'm going to soft play to let my toddler run and slide and spin and twirl and run some more, while I get to sit and just breathe for a moment.

tatutata · 30/01/2021 21:48

I want to go and stand on the jubilee line at rush hour, crushed into the armpit of a sexy stranger in a suit. Then I'll go to work on the tower at canary wharf and spend my lunch break dithering about Birley versus prêt, and go for prêt again because the queue is less long. Then I'll have some sneaky time out in the basement gym. I'll finish a bit later because my big cocktail night with my friends in cool bar in Charlotte Street doesn't kick off until 9. Then we'll go on to a club and crash at the Premier Inn becaaue we missed the train.

IM0GEN · 30/01/2021 21:48

I’ll join you for the coffee and cake. But sorry I can’t join you shopping afterwards as I’m going to my choir practice with all my friends. We will sing out hearts out and then go for coffee / drinks afterwards and laugh and chat until they throw us out because it’s closing.

SallyTimms · 30/01/2021 21:48

I am going to head into. Leeds to people watch at a couple of bars, drink cocktails after doing some sale shopping. Then get a busy train home and nip into my local for a last drink, chat to folk then wobble off

Fairydustrust · 30/01/2021 21:48

@HipTightOnions

Can I join you after I’ve had my hair cut?
Oh, we are fitting in haircuts for any that want. I have cut my own fringe and need a bit of help Grin

@BruceAndNosh

I'm going to try on every bra in my size in Marks and Spencer
That used to be my worst nightmare. I'd give anything to spend an afternoon bra shopping now.
Ginfordinner · 30/01/2021 21:49

@sofiaaaaaa

I also need to return a jumper to M&S that’s gone all bobbly

Was it from Seasalt? I got a jumper from them after Christmas and it looks awful now.
thenightsky · 30/01/2021 21:50

I am going to head into Leeds to people watch at a couple of bars, drink cocktails after doing some sale shopping

I'll see you in the Mavern later.

Chalkcheese · 30/01/2021 21:52

@kingdomcapers

Shit! I hope I don't get drunk and start telling about a complicated movie only to realise it's actually an episode of Paw Patrol again. That would be really embarrassing... Or start dancing to a song on the radio like "it's my jam!" Only to discover it's the theme tune to 'Frozen' 😫

Maybe I am not ready yet? I need breaking back in to the adult world more slowly...

timetest · 30/01/2021 21:52

Take the DGD swimming then a cheese toastie in Costa for the morning then shopping at blue water followed by dinner at Wagamama with the DDs. Bliss.

PompomDahlia · 30/01/2021 21:52

I'm going to get a mani pedi at my favourite salon. Then I'm going to the shops to get myself a new top and some new makeup and picking up something nice for lunch - maybe from the salad bar buffet at a deli I like. Then I'll go home and get all dressed up in my new outfit with my favourite handbag and head out for dinner and cocktails with DH and friends. We'll walk through Soho afterwards and people watch and enjoy seeing everyone having a great time, maybe head down to the river and walk over the bridge for the lovely view of London all lit up.

IEat · 30/01/2021 21:53

Trip round HMV to browse the LPs.
Blockbusters on the way home

Fairydustrust · 30/01/2021 21:53

@User2921

I'd love to come and pick out an outfit for the evening. I hope some of you will join me for that? It will be a bit quieter on a Sunday but still fairly lively, and they tend to play all the old classics so we can have a good dance. I might get a bit tipsy and hug a few of you at the end of the night though.
I think that sounds brilliant

Can lunch be somewhere that has live jazz in the background somewhere? Better still, can we go when the jazz festival is on and linger by every street performer before grabbing lunch and loitering on the grass by the free stage (tbh, not in January, but you get the plan).

Or an orchestral concert? Preferably with absolutely masses of instruments going hell for leather on something well known and dramatic?

Chalkcheese · 30/01/2021 21:55

Don't worry about booking a coach! I am really looking forward to catching the night bus. You do not know you are alive until you've survived that!

newbie987 · 30/01/2021 21:57

This is my most favourite post on MN so far.
I think I want to do everything!! Bookshops, craft shops, coffee shops and people watching, feeling the fabric in fabric shops...shoes...definitely shoe shopping too! Theatre and cinema sound so good!! As do spa days / jacuzzis too, so much to fit in, I think I'd have to do it over a few days!!

Ballstothis148 · 30/01/2021 21:57

Ooh can we make it a girls weekend and stay over in a fancy hotel? And wear fancy pjs and the hotel slippers and have a fancy breakfast in the morning, pop into the nearby village for nothing much... go back to the hotel spa :)

JKRismyhero · 30/01/2021 21:58

I would loooove a leisurely walk around Waterstones, touching all the books and deciding which I would like.
