What things do you find weirdly satisfying?

I'm sure everyone has at least one odd, sometimes cringey thing that they find satisfying. Mine is pulling hair out of DD's PlayDoh. She always manages to get some hairs stuck to her playdoh and I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy slowly pulling it out when tidying Grin any others?

Watching a cat wash their face

PrincessOfAllOurTarts · 29/01/2021 20:34

Deleting stuff from the Sky+ and 'getting back' the percentage.

Chunkymenrock · 29/01/2021 22:12

Running my hand through my hair and bringing out loose strands. Pegging out washing.

Santaiscovidfree · 29/01/2021 22:23

When ds had a verucca peeling the stuff off.
Brushing every last loose hair off a moulting bloody husky..

Firstbornunicorn · 29/01/2021 22:26

Picking off a scab.

BeautifulStar · 29/01/2021 22:28

spelks

I’ve just had to google that - I have never heard that word before! Every day’s a school day!

One which I don’t get to do very often but really enjoy is poking milia out with a sterilised needle - it comes out as a hard little ball and it’s soooo satisfying - ds had a big one and he finally let me get it out for him recently - it was heaven!

I always used to love gently scraping the cradle cap off my dc’s heads with my fingernails when they were little too.

Ltdannygreen · 29/01/2021 22:31

Chewing a plastic straw till it’s literally white. Not sure why but I’ve always loved doing it, also flipping a pen in my hands. I just can’t help myself.

Onlinedilema · 29/01/2021 22:33

I used to like picking off cradle cap too.

Chalkcheese · 29/01/2021 22:46

When I bring the bin back in after the bin collection. I always feel physically lighter somehow. When they take the recycling it's even bigger, the feeling of lightness but with an additional warm fuzzy planet saving glow.

Cracking my knuckles Blush

When I get a popcorn kernel (or something similar) stuck between my teeth and it comes free.

Hair removal. A hair cut, plucking my eyebrows, shaving my armpits, waxing my legs. Doesn't matter, I love the feeling of it being there and then being gone. Similarly popping a spot, using a peel off face mask, using blackhead strips, cutting my nails, removing false nails.

I like treating cradle cap and also quite enjoy treating for head-lice Blush

I also like pulling off plasters and taking off dressings, things like that. I find things like that so irritating that taking them off is like being able to breath after holding my breath for a long time.

At the moment my favourite feeling is taking the face mask off (and visor too at work sometimes) and breathing in some fresh air. Best feeling ever.

After Covid the first time I smelt something properly again was beautiful. Like the world had been in black and white for a while but was back in colour again

spaceghetto · 29/01/2021 23:40

What are spelks? Google doesnt bring up anything for me! I used to love picking hair out of my carpet. No euphemism there!

Asmr, loved it since being a child listening to people whisper, hearing the drs pen when they would write out a prescription, listening to typing and txting, I oblt discovered it was called asmr around 3 years ago and wondered why I always felt sleepy from it

Making a perfect cup of tea

Pegging out a load of washing

Seeing the dust in the vacuum container and looking at the freshly vacuumed carpet and thinking ‘all that dust was in the carpet!’
