I'm so hot in bed

Grin

Under the duvet... too hot
On the top ... too cold
Just a throw... ok to start but wake up cold
Thinner duvet... as above.
Window shut.. too hot
Window open... too cold

A couple of times I've woken without the duvet on and the window open so cold I think
I'm about to freeze.

Along with being unable to nod off, stay asleep, and restless legs I have come to dread nighttime.

Words of wisdom or consolation please

@Chewbecca that sounds great that it worked so quickly! Thank you for the reply. I am going to investigate this further.
@MrTrellis you can get wool duvets from thewool room.com. There is a sale on now. They also do the wool mattress toppers and pillows. So I’m going to have another look there! 🙂
By traditional mattress, I mean normal mattress - not a memory foam, which apparently can make night sweats worse.

HRT and wear something with a scoop neck so your chest isn't covered too high up.

LastStarFighter · 31/01/2021 12:46

@rosie39forever

I couldn’t wait around to grow out of this phase, a wool duvet and HRT and I’m as cool as a cucumber.
Yup. Exactly this. (Took me by surprise because I was only 42 when it started).

I swear by my wool duvet though.

MrTrellis · 31/01/2021 12:50

Oh thanks!
I think I’m going to save up for all the Woolroom stock.

DartmoorChef · 31/01/2021 20:13

I got a gravity blanket. It solved everything.

LaurieSchafferIsAllBitterNow · 31/01/2021 20:23

yeah...a nice new mirena and oestrogel solved this for me, and also no waking in the night for a pee, two and three times.

I think I have been up once in the night over the last month or two...and that was due to dh's constant tea making!

Been freezing all day at work (ventilated) classroom. Where’s my hot flush when I need it? Just out of a hot bath to warm up!

Devon Duvets for a wool duvet. It really helps. Woollen blanket if you get chilly.
I now also sleep in a cotton nightshirt - before I used to be naked.
I've also got a down duvet to hand if I get too cold as the window is usually open. Ditto fan for the summer.
Sympathies all round. It's horrid.

One leg out seems the perfect compromise for me.
