I think my favourite is "when designing something completely and utterly foolproof, never underestimate the ingenuity of a complete fool". It has stood me well in teaching and parenting 
Life in the past year has helped me to empathise far more with Marvin "here I am, a brain the size of a planet and they ask me to open the doors". Oh Marvin, I feel the wasted potential, relegated to the role of family feeder 
If only Douglas Adams had spent less time in the bath procrastinating and had been as prolific as Terry Pratchet.
I don't think Crowley would have loved 2020. Far too close to the 14th Century. Not enough fun although good flocking potential.
On that note, we hit escape mode today and ventured into the next county not so very far away in search of a walk with a different calibre of mud. One can have too much of a heavy clay, and this was more of a refreshing loam. 
In fairness, it's a relatively obscure spot with plenty of space, and DS1 usually happily does that one without meltdowns as it's a particular loop and he knows exactly what we're doing.
There's a few places he muddles in his head, we get to where we said, it's not where he visualised, and life gets rather irate, noisy and stressful for the next half an hour.
