I wouldn't but only because I don't like the sensation of ankle straps.

Comfort is good though OP and I doubt anyone would judge you.

Comfortable sandals look good on all ages surely. I live near the sea and so sporty Teva type sandals are common on everyone from children to the active older women .

Don't get me wrong, I won't wear them with cropped linens and a round neck tshirt, just sports leggings or a swimming costume so they won't look that bad.
