Can I tell you my bit of good news

Ive has a terrible past few years, more like 6 years.

But the one tiny little shimmer is that since the start of this year I have lost 10lbs. I was overweight before and I have always felt quite down about it but struggled to do much.

Id like to lose 45 Lbs in total so I can be 8stone 7lbs although I may stop and reassess at 9 and a half or 9. But I would like to know what it feels like to be thin or skinny.

It’s a small achievement for me but it’s the only thing I have control over in my life right now.

I don’t have anyone else to tell so I’m posting it here.

Well done that's great 👍👍

PurpleDaisies · 28/01/2021 13:30

That’s a great achievement - well done.

Just wondering how you arrived at your target? Unless you’re short, that seems quite low.

Xerochrysum · 28/01/2021 13:32

Yay! That's really great. Keep going, I'm cheering for you!

Hollyhead · 28/01/2021 13:32

Wow, well done you what a great start.

Halfwreckedbykids · 28/01/2021 13:32

I m delighted for you.
That took a LOT of work and fair play to you.
I wish i had your will power

Wowwellokthen · 28/01/2021 13:33

Awesome 👌 well done!

SatsumasOrClementines · 28/01/2021 13:50

Congrats!

Stopping at 9 and a half to see sounds like a great idea. Depending on your height and build it could look very slim you.

dueindecember10 · 28/01/2021 14:21

That's fantastic! Well done. Be really proud of yourself especially during lockdown when most of us just want to face plant chocolate and wine! X

Atalune · 28/01/2021 14:23

10lbs is bloody brilliant! I bet you feel great!

Smallsteps2021 · 28/01/2021 14:28

Thank you so much. I’m 5’4.

8 and a half stone might be too thin. I think my target might well really be 9 to 9 and a half. At my heaviest I weighed almost 13 stone for a long time.

I went through quite a bad period two years ago and lost a stone.

Im not sure where the willpower has come from either. I have lost quite a lot of motivation to do anything - which has included my appetite for sweets/chocolate/cake/biscuits but I’m taking a perverse pleasure in seeing the weight drop off.

When I started I thought I would avoid any junk food for 6 weeks and see how I go and my general apathy seems to have contributed to that. It’s better than a few years ago where I was so depressed I decided to eat myself into oblivion.

Well done Smallsteps, that’s great! Thanks for sharing your good news. I hope 2021 brings you many more good things Star

Halfwreckedbykids · 28/01/2021 16:52

Only because i want to lose weight too..
How did you do it?
I m cooking relentlessly for mother (vunerable) neighbour (vunerable) kids and hubby.
I ve 14 lb to lose. I was skinny but feel so awful now

Smallsteps2021 · 28/01/2021 16:57

I just cut out all processed food and all things sugary - so no biscuits or cakes or chocolate. These were big things for me and I could easily eat a whole pack or bar a day.

I went down to eating two meals a day - often I had lunch which is something like scrambled eggs or poached eggs with a bit of avocado and smoked salmon. Sometimes I ate a smoked mackerel which I chopped up with some cream cheese and ate that with peppers.

Then for dinner I had something like a lentil stew or lamb chops and roasted veg or a baked salmon or roast chicken. Or maybe shepherds pie. Had to be careful as I did eat quite big portions of shepherds pie as I love it.

I didn’t completely cut out carbs but I don’t eat much carbs I guess now. Most days I eat cheese and crackers before I go to bed. I don’t really know what sort of diet it is but that’s what I’ve done.

Well done!

Try to find something else you can
Control as well though, I'm a bit worried you're drifting your way into an eating disorder.

Take care of yourself 💐

Sounds like your food is tasty and healthy. I’ve just added smoked mackerel to my shopping list-love it.
