I want to be the thread police and give a virtual tazering to posters who…

  • Post non-AIBU stuff in AIBU rather than the relevant section, usually Chat. No point having sections if people keep posting in AIBU as default and effectively turning it into another Chat.
  • Ask questions that are clearly answered in the OP’s first post (that appear on the top of each page!)
  • Say “if that’s all you have to worry about…” etc
  • Nit pick over irrelevant details rather than give any constructive help
  • Resurrect zombie posts from years ago, especially time-sensitive ones, eg baby issue ones where the baby is now 10!

Yes I’m bored. Yes I have more important things to do and to worry about. Yes I know I’m being an awful pedant and should get a life/scroll on if I don’t like it/whatever. Yes, I’d love a zap button Grin😈

OP posts:

I like the lightening bolt and police woman symbols. ⚡🚨👮‍♀️

Found the siren as I was searching. Grin

tocketytickety · 28/01/2021 20:15

Oh dear, also didn't put the female symbol. Weird.

StealthPolarBear · 28/01/2021 20:18

My husband is very very senior and he says...
My husband manages a team of 100 and he would

StealthPolarBear · 28/01/2021 20:20

That bloody poster who makes everything about trans issues and gets very irate.
Oh hang on. That's me.

AtleastitsnotMonday · 28/01/2021 20:34

Threads asking for new meal ideas where there are 4 pages all suggesting the exact same dishes

MrsBobDylan · 28/01/2021 21:23

Well, everything about mn pisses me off. I am am especially pissed off that, despite being pissed off for my entire tenure on this site, I am still hanging about like a stale fart, getting pissed off.

What I need op, what I really, really need, is an invitation to the Mumsnet Tazer Police Force. It is the only way I can be happy.

wanderings · 28/01/2021 21:25

Posts covid doommongering outside the covid topic.

BeautifulStar · 28/01/2021 21:29

Posters who come on asking whether they should drive to see their lonely/mentally unwell/struggling sister/friend/mum - just fucking do it if you’re going to do it! Why come on here and ask permission?

And Posters who immediately jump on anyone who suggests possibly “breaking the roolz” or what they perceive to be the rules, as though the OP is the spawn of Satan.

I concur with those who finish a dig or nasty aside with "That's just me " or "I suppose everyone is different " . Listen if you are going to be a smug arsehole then feel free but own it. If you haven't got the spine to stand by your nasty comment without hiding behind a faux wide eyed vague inclusive statement to pretend you are a nice person then don't say it.

I have no problem with someone being an arsehole at all , I quite like them. I have huge annoyance with someone who can't admit it.

Oh and people who claim that they "Feel like the sky being blue isn't right " , I can feel like a velociraptor all I like but if I look in the mirror and see the 41 year old woman looking back , continuing to feel like I might be a velociraptor is delusional. I mean by all means have controversial opinions...it makes the world go around. But for gods sake base them on something more that a flitting through thought based on air.

I'd be rubbish on the taser force, I'd end up tazing everyone (possibly including myself ) on a bad day.

Beyondfedupnow · 29/01/2021 05:56

I wish the feminism board was friendlier to women like me who want to learn more about feminism without having my head bitten off. I now avoid the board and I can’t be the only one. It’s a shame.

Shaniac · 29/01/2021 06:15

Everything on mumsnet either annoys me or makes me laugh. All the drama. The things that get me are the fucking OTT whinging about normal run of the mill things and the odd mean girls attitude to people who like them,

Eg, that actress is the human equivalent of a live, laugh, love sign.

Rattan furniture is vile and tacky and i dispise it and feel ragey when i see people using it.

Ew couples holding hands, imagine the sweat, and the sexism, and how they are pathetic and old and only kids hold hands.

Or harry potter is sooooooo badly written jk is such a terrible writer because my old lecturer at uni who ponced about smoking spliffs and is teaching whilst still doing a masters himself said so.

Or leo dicaprio is a bad actor i have no idea why anyone likes him at all hes rubbish in everything hes ever been in...

It goes on. Sure chat about things you do and dont like but maybe stop the overdramatics or the staunch eyes closed fingers in ears tactic. Really mumsnet is a group of hipsters trying to prove they are soo cool by hating everything popular.

BloggersBlog · 29/01/2021 06:29

Tazer people who write 'ring 111' when they mean the police
Is it so hard to remember that the word 'ill' is like 111 so that's the NHS
Yes, I'll own I'm being pedantic now and not your original point at all, but it feels better getting it out there Grin

I am surprised you have found that. I think the fwr board is a really excellent resource. I spent a long time just reading before posting anything though. Unfortunately it is plagued by trolls, which is tedious and can result in the occasional lapse of patience on the part of regular posters.
PatchworkElmer · 29/01/2021 06:39

Guess the gender/ gender reveals.

It’s SEX!!

Also- the ‘gender disappointment’ threads. 99% of the time it’s someone upset that their baby is a boy 😔

mekitgubakuds · 29/01/2021 06:50

YES OP!!! It really really pisses me off.... a lot more than it really should Grin
To the point that I've turned into that person who now comments on such threads asking what the AIBU is.... and then I get my head bitten off! I don't give a toss about them biting my head off when I feel I've made a valid point though.
I have considered reporting these posts but don't think MNHQ would do anything.
I mean how hard is it to just put it in the chat topic?
And I especially hate those who try and word a question as AIBU to justify to themselves putting it in that topic area, but it blatantly isn't a AIBU question.
I really really pisses me off!

Oversize · 29/01/2021 06:51

Someone posts a thread about a person who they think has done something awful. There's general agreement then another poster offers a different point of view and someone responds 'Are you the ...(dreadful person)?'

Tazer tazer tazer! And now get back to the fucking playground you twatty fucker!

devildeepbluesea · 29/01/2021 06:53

@MrsBobDylan I think you might be me!

mekitgubakuds · 29/01/2021 06:54

I think it's time we form our own vigilante police and all point out on such threads that it's not a AIBU and hopefully reclaim AIBU for the proper bar fights for which it was intended GrinGrin

Avaganda · 29/01/2021 06:55

I get irrational rage when I see 'thrown under the bus' or 'thrown to the wolves'. Everyone has been thrown under the bus or at a wolf during this pandemic according to some MN's!

MPForFlydaleNorth · 29/01/2021 07:18

Can we also taser the people who "didn't want to read and run" but have no advice or input to give, but are "sure someone will be along soon to help"

And the people that try to shoehorn AIBU in to a thread title to get around the fact it is not an AIBU - e.g AIBU to ask you to recommend a new iron? AIBU to tell you about a lovely sandwich I had? It's like they've seen us and our tasers coming...

MPForFlydaleNorth · 29/01/2021 07:20

And that 101 looks like LOL which is fitting for a lot of the things these people want logged
