Any one else’s school doing lateral flow testing for teachers?

I’ve just had an email of the school saying the teachers are testing twice a week. Is this being rolled out across the board?

It is for us and my sisters school (SE)

Yes, started this week.

Yes, we’re starting at the end of this week too. It’s optional but most of our staff are keen to give it a go.

It’s not compulsory so staff can opt out but yes my school and my sons school are doing it.

All staff in our primary school are to test twice a week. The test packs are due to arrive any day now.

We started this week at my school.

My school is doing it, I will be tested twice a week on the weeks I’m in school (currently in every other week).

We are but only for those who are in school. Most people are working from home so aren't being tested at the moment

Yes x2 weekly . Although not the pupils . This I find bizarre, some staff has tested positive. We only have a small selection of children . Staff are feeling very very uneasy .

Imagine if the government ploughed all that money from track and trace in creating millions of these tests so every one could take it regularly.

Ah I see. I’d imagine they all want it tbh!

Yes. We all do our first one tomorrow night and the next one on Monday morning before work. It is not compulsory but pretty sure we are all doing it. X

They are not really fit for purpose.

They only have a 50 per cent accuracy rate so could end up sending infected teacher back into class.

Yep-primary schools are offering them to staff to test twice weekly as part of a community testing program.

Yes, we've been doing it since we got back after Christmas.

We're doing them but I have no confidence in their accuracy. I think it's been rolled out just so the government can say they're doing something to support/protect teachers.

Interesting that they've stopped doing them in secondary schools.
