As a side with pasta dish.

Just that 🙂

The slices are piddling little things.

I think we have lost sight of portion control in this country. Sometimes I can barely even pick a slice up in order to better divide it between us, they are so massive.

A pp said that she cuts the bigger ones up. Well that's all very well if you don't have teeny tiny hands and a battered old Volvo to worry about.

I thought you were serious for a second.
AdaColeman · 26/01/2021 17:26

I only serve it with soup, and it makes two or three servings.

HmmSureJan · 26/01/2021 17:27

Good for you! It’s just a bit wanky though to tell people that they’re ruining their palates with god awful this and that isn’t it?

Yes, it is.

WithinAForestDark · 26/01/2021 17:27

One whole garlic bread? Oh easily serves five of us with enough left over for the next two days as well. The carbs! You disgusting fat pigsters. Think of the carbs! Grin

BigBadVoodooHat · 26/01/2021 17:28

Wanky garlic bread. Just get an Asda cheapy garlic baguette FGS.

And risk destruction of their palate? Shock

I’m embarrassed for you and your flagrant food philistinism Hmm

EerieSilence · 26/01/2021 17:28

@Boltonb frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn.

BringPizza · 26/01/2021 17:32

I want some now, with bolognaise on top... so much for the healthy eating plan Grin

garlictwist · 26/01/2021 17:33

I would say 2 but there'd prob be a little left over - not enough for a third person though. So 2.5?

BottleFlipper · 26/01/2021 17:34

2 with something like lasagne/pasta bake and salad.

If its with a pasta dish where the pasta portion is more flexible then maybe 3.

DarcyJack · 26/01/2021 17:35

3

Ghostella · 26/01/2021 17:35

I wouldn’t have it with lasagne or pasta, it’s nice with a bowl of tomato soup though! I like a slice of two of those ones that look like pizza. One of those divided into 8 slices and we all have a couple each 👍

BigBadVoodooHat · 26/01/2021 17:35

Indeed. As one of the ubiquitous teeny-tiny MNers (and who often gets mistaken for a teenager despite being of pensionable age), I actually once got trapped beneath a slice of garlic bread as I am far too slight to lift such a horrific carb load off myself.

I lay there for hours, squeaking intermittently, until a passing ‘bread + pasta’ heifer was able to set me free by shamelessly wolfing down said slice of bread.

Dreadfully traumatic day. I’ve not dared THINK about a single carb since. Sad

Roselilly36 · 26/01/2021 17:36

2,they are tiny

TrialOfStyle · 26/01/2021 17:40
  1. Half a bit each, remains last for a week.

Of realistically, 2 people.

inchoccyheaven · 26/01/2021 17:40

Depends on how many of us are eating so between 2-4. Ideally 3 is enough.

Plussizejumpsuit · 26/01/2021 17:41

2 adults. Maybe some left maybe not

Icenii · 26/01/2021 17:41

In what way are you using TeenyTiny as a dig or out me down? Are you making fun of short arses under 4 foot 10?

Ha, I was joking but I see someone has already gone for the winner of true competitive MN style eating.
Clymene · 26/01/2021 17:41

Honestly, I can't believe people eat garlic bread alongside other food. It's a rare treat in our house and one baguette should last our family of 5 at least 3 meals as it should only ever be an accompaniment to a vegetable main - soup perhaps as another poster suggests, or a salad.

The beauty of garlic bread is that it has SO MUCH FAT AND CARBS that no salad dressing is necessary!

Icenii · 26/01/2021 17:41

*put

RatherLostPenguins · 26/01/2021 17:41

One baguette for 2 people here but I usually buy the slices because we get more of the garlicky bits and less of the crusty bits. A pack of 9 slices means two slices each and a spare which magically disappears while plating up to avoid arguments over who gets it. Grin

I've been making my own more recently but not in an effort to be wanky, it's because I keep completely forgetting to add the garlic bread to our order (didn't happen when I was walking around the shop!) and we always have bread, butter and garlic in the house.

HmmSureJan · 26/01/2021 17:43

It's a MN trope. Regular posts from teeny tiny posters who can barely eat a crumb and constantly get mistaken for teeny tiny teens who might be blown over if it's a bit gusty outside - they really are THAT slender and teeny tiny.

It's quite weird actually,

Ilovenewyear · 26/01/2021 17:45

4 but one is a toddler.

80sMum · 26/01/2021 17:46

We used to have one between the two of us, but not with pasta though, that would be a bit of a carb overload for us!
