What do you serve risotto in?

I'm just making risotto & it always goes on plates.

I fancy some sort of nice bowls; I'm picturing something flat-ish, but not plates.

Anyone have anything nice like that? :)

Pasta bowls

MissisBoote · 22/01/2021 17:22

These pasta bowls. Tbh we use these more than plates. Good for curry, stews, pasta etc

I don't have pasta bowls either!

Clearly I need pasta bowls, they sound useful.

Pasta bowls here too.

Stew, rice dishes, curry, pasta, bangers and mash.... all go in pasta bowls

LittleRa · 22/01/2021 17:26

Do you eat pasta on plates too, or from smaller bowls like cereal bowls? Definitely recommend pasta bowls.

Nanasueathome · 22/01/2021 17:27

I was browsing the Daylesford website earlier and they’ve got risotto bowls
I’ve ordered 2

dudsville · 22/01/2021 17:28

Ditto pasta bowls, mine are bigger and deeper then the one linked. You need pasta bowls, for so many reasons.

harridan50 · 22/01/2021 17:28

Pasta bowls see Denby

MsRinky · 22/01/2021 17:29

I usse these for pasta, risotto, curry, anything that isn't meat and two veg really! www.portmeirion.co.uk/sophie-conran-for-portmeirion-white-pasta-bowls-set-of-4?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI_MzUlIiw7gIVhOvtCh0UVw2bEAQYASABEgKvz_D_BwE

I usually use soup bowls, although pasta dishes look smarter. Might have to invest...

mummaminnie · 22/01/2021 17:29

Pasta bowls here too for risotto.

lucysmam · 22/01/2021 17:29

LittleRa something like a bolognese goes on plates, just a pasta meal in a cereal bowl 🤷‍♀️

I might have a browse of etsy for something nice

We eat nearly everything from our pasta bowls!

BringMeThatHorizon · 22/01/2021 17:31

Pasta bowls here too. They're so useful. You need some.

PollyPorcupine · 22/01/2021 17:31

You absolutely need pasta bowls. We got some last year and use them so much I can't believe we managed without them previously.

Love these bowls.

Soup plates

Is there actually any difference between a soup plate and a pasta bowl?

BuggerOffAndGoodDayToYou · 22/01/2021 17:38

Another one for pasta bowls!

Risotto, stew, chilli, ......... I’ve only had them for a couple of years.... love them.

TheTeenageYears · 22/01/2021 17:38

@MechantGourmet would a soup plate usually have a rim?

BuggerOffAndGoodDayToYou · 22/01/2021 17:40

I always think of a soup plate as having a rim to hold when you tip it up (away from you of course) to get the last of the soup out.

BUT I don’t have soup plates so guess what I eat soup out of? 😉 😊

ClaraLane · 22/01/2021 17:44

Denby pasta bowls here too. We bought them with wedding money 4.5 years ago and still going strong. Like PPs we eat most meals out of them.

Megan2018 · 22/01/2021 17:47

Pasta bowls here too!
They are our most used items Smile

AuntieDolly · 22/01/2021 17:53

George Asda usually has nice ones

pickingdaisies · 22/01/2021 17:53

White denby pasta bowls here too! Bought with Tesco club card points. They are handy as emergency fruit bowls, salad bowls etc as well as pasta, curry, jacket potato and baked beans - everything except roast dinner or toast. And so far they have survived my attempts to destroy them (accidentally)
I am really very clumsy. They are tough.

MechantGourmet · 22/01/2021 18:00

Ah, now all the "pasta bowls" I have seen have rims too...
I think mine are officially "soup plates", and have rims.
