This day can absolutely do one, I'm done with this year and January isn't even over.

I'm putting on my pjs, opening an expensive chianti for myself and I'm not sharing, and I'm going to watch the Hunger Games under my blanket.

Everyone can fuck off. Except the cat, he can sit with me if he wants.

Fucking life these days 😤🤯😡😡😷

Enjoy!

Xerochrysum · 21/01/2021 19:21

Why Hunger Games? I love that film, but definitely not my choice of film if I feel like that.

wildthingsinthenight · 21/01/2021 19:22

I support this 100%!
Hope you enjoy your evening OPFlowers

Because it's teen dystopian escapism which is what I need right now, and in general I'm a horror/gore fan but I'm too fragile for Battle Royale tonight. I need something light hence Hunger Games Grin

Great choice and that is exactly the sort of film I would watch if I had that kind of date. Real escapism!

I have decanted the chianti into a travel mug so wine fan DH can't see it and ask to have some. 👍👍

Ohhh I love the Hunger Games and pretend I'm the 40 year old version of Katniss.

Me too! Grin

I put on my wellies and my hair in a side plait for walks and insist I'm Katniss and not a flabby 37yo couch potato.

To be honest The Hunger Games is pretty appropriate these days!

Wink

"oh no DH, I'm not drinking that wine club chianti, I'm just having a soothing herbal tea, you wouldn't like it".

Akin to telling kids that you're eating something spicy.

It fucking is. Confused

But watching Hunger Games makes me almost feel like maybe perhaps lockdown isn't so bad. At least I've got wine. Katniss only had half raw rabbit.

I'm watching Buffy :D

Yessss.

I rewatched Buffy in December. Cried as much as I did when I was 16.

I've got gin & started watching Riverdale from the beginning.

DariaMorgendorffer · 21/01/2021 19:57

Sounds perfect op!

Tal45 · 21/01/2021 20:06

Oooh but the book is so much better :-D

It is. I might re-read next week. I can only read the first 2 books though, I really disliked Mockingjay.

Excellent choice! It was Buffy’s 40th the other day. It’s my 40th later this year, I grew up with her Grin
mrstasty · 21/01/2021 20:17

Just to piss on the mood, but did anyone have issues with the coercive nature of the Katniss Peeta relationship? Not from Peeta, but from the Capitol.
For people that read the books.

They loved each other in a trauma bond way, but I'm pretty sure Katniss wouldn't have loved him as a partner if their life hadn't been in danger.

It was more of a survival/guilt love.

I need more wine. Or maybe less wine, I can't tell which these days.

pointythings · 21/01/2021 20:21

I'm watching Life on Mars. But it's Dry January, so no wine. Actual herbal tea instead.

Happyelfjokeday · 21/01/2021 20:26

I also didn’t like third book. Felt like they were constantly on a journey with various bad things happening along the way. Which doesn’t sound like a disaster of a plot but it just seemed to drag.
I’m just talking myself into the idea that Thursday is a weekend night rather than a week night (with associated implications for a drink!)

ABitOfAShitShow · 21/01/2021 20:28

Ha! I did this a couple of weeks ago! All 3 of them in one day.

LemonViolet · 21/01/2021 20:30

Sauv Blanc and Stranger Things here. The real world can do one. Cheers OP Wine Wine
