Sudden sense of impending doom

It's really weirded me out. Just randomly got hit by this feeling of impending doom. Like a really anxious sinking feeling in my stomach and my brain just feeling, well, doomy? Never suddenly felt like this before!

Oh bless you. I had heard of this with anaphylaxis and experienced it when I injured myself (falling off a bike) on a hot day. I had heatstroke.
It's horrible.
So glad you are getting help. Take it easy.

everythingbackbutyou · 21/01/2021 23:37

So thankful you took this seriously. I’ve had ectopic x 2 but so grateful to be now driven crazy by my 3 healthy children. Ectopic are such sneaky bastards / my first I had zero pain even though I was bleeding internally and lost a tube as a result. Emotionally you may be all over the place. If you want any additional support feel free to message me.

HoneysuckIejasmine · 21/01/2021 23:49

Oh my goodness OP. I hope you are ok, terrifying.

This is the second thread I've read where's MNers correctly diagnosed a life threatening condition. The wealth of knowledge here is massive. Well done, everyone

Unusually for me I checked back on this thread as I was so concerned and I am so glad you posted, and heeded the advice.

And so sorry for your loss and hope they are looking after you well.

Mumsnet at its very best, looking after each other.

Gilead · 22/01/2021 08:04

Poor you, I'm so sorry for your loss. So glad you got help Flowers wishing you better very soon.

samanthawashington · 22/01/2021 10:50

Wow that's really odd. Most people would get abdominal pain, but how strange your body reacted like this, and just as well.

ComDummings · 22/01/2021 10:53

So so glad to hear you got help and are safe

ComDummings · 22/01/2021 10:55

It’s not odd at all, OP had quite typical ectopic pregnancy symptoms as many PP pointed out before she updated
Cloudhopping · 22/01/2021 11:05

Thank goodness you got checked out op.

2021welcome · 22/01/2021 13:10

Glad you took it seriously

MechantGourmet · 22/01/2021 13:34

Gosh, I was hoping to read an update saying it was nothing. I'm so glad you went to hospital, and hope you're better soon Thanks
Well done MNers.

kamalasshaman · 22/01/2021 20:44

So glad you got help Thanks

quince2figs · 22/01/2021 21:06

So glad you are ok!

AnaisNun · 23/01/2021 13:47

Wow- OP- I’m sorry about your ectopic, I think you said upthread that you were trying? My DM had one when I was 17, and her symptoms were just like yours. It’s a hugely physically (and can be emotionally) traumatic experience- I hope you’re taking good care of yourself Flowers

Can this also please be a warning to mumsnetters to NEVER tell or insinuate to someone with symptoms of serious physical illness or indeed any medical concerns that “it’s nothing”? “Textbook anxiety” etc? It’s so bloody dangerous.

Vinosaurus · 26/01/2021 19:32
@Vinosaurus I had it too. Just before my PE. That's what made my DP realise how ill I was.

OP, glad you're getting sorted. The shoulder pain gave it away as ectopic to me.
You're lucky - I woke my husband up who told me (like many on this thread would have it seems) that it was just a panic attack and to go back to sleep, wouldn't phone 111 or even give me the phone to call them myself (couldn't walk as was in a cast from hip to knee after an op) until I literally screamed at him.

How are you OP?

Vinosaurus · 26/01/2021 19:39

*Hip to toe - that would have been an odd cast!

ZoChan · 04/02/2021 20:59

Just checked in- wow thank goodness you posted on MN - hope you're home and doing ok OP xx

Historydweeb · 04/02/2021 21:11

Watching intently. I get this a lot, I try and rationalise it and it seems to subside.

BIWI · 05/02/2021 13:40

@Historydweeb have you RTFT?!
