Hi, I’ve had a good old laugh over this card. Much needed. In all fairness, he’s very thoughtful about getting a nice card and an equally nice verse.

This year though he clearly hadn’t read it properly...

It was 6am this morning when I opened it before he left for work and it took him a few minutes to realise that the card was intended to be from a woman to another woman.

My DH did something similar. He picked a card for him DM but didn't notice it had a name on the front so didn't delete it. Lickily she saw the funny side of it 😂😂

My mum keeps sending DD ‘great granddaughter’ cards. Makes me laugh every time.

HoppingOnSteppingStones · 18/01/2021 16:20

We had a Mr and Mr card for our wedding instead of Mr and Mrs.

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 18/01/2021 16:20

I once bought DH (a Feb birthday) a valentine's card for his birthday. As well as a valentine's card.

He found it hilarious.

showgirl63 · 18/01/2021 16:23

Bought my parents an engagement card rather than an anniversary card when I was a kid - mum most unamused and refused to go in the shop where I'd bought it for years!

bellagogosdead · 18/01/2021 16:23

Dh got me a 'Congratulations on your anniversary' card for our anniversary once. It was a great card though.Smile

95percentcocoa · 18/01/2021 19:30

When we were engaged, my now DH sent me a valentines card with ‘to my darling Fiancé’ on the front and ‘I can’t wait to be your wife’ on the inside! 😆

StealthRoast · 18/01/2021 20:02

I’m so glad he isn’t the only one Grin

This is so sweet!

I mistakenly bought gorgeous a "Mrs and Mrs" card for a hetero couple's wedding. DH spotted it at the eleventh hour and I had to nip out for a substandard Tesco replacement. I have never been invited to a lesbian wedding, but the beautiful card is biding it's time in a drawer, ready for when I do!

cleanasawhistle · 18/01/2021 20:24

For my birthday this year my son got me a card that said...
You are lovely, you are like a mother to me
I didnt point out his mistake

Serena1977 · 18/01/2021 20:25

My late grandad used to give me great granddaughter cards. I'm glad he thought I was great!

Last anniversary, dh got me a your anniversary card!

Begonias · 18/01/2021 20:39

My DH printed a card at work for valentine's Day. It was along the tesco value range design. The message on the front said" things are a bit tight this year, hope you have a lovely valentine's Day. Blue and white stripes with navy writing. I absolutely loved it. What made it funny was we weren't even struggling but I like to be frugal so he knew I'd love it although his friends were worried for him 😂

TroysMammy · 18/01/2021 20:44

I had a card for my birthday yesterday from my niece (ordered and bought by her Mother) "Happy Birthday Annabelle" my name is not Annabelle but inside was "To an amazing Auntie" which I am. I don't know what my sister was thinking as I would never ever pass for an Annabelle.

TroysMammy · 18/01/2021 20:48

Also before we got married my H2B couldn't remember if fiancee was one e or two so he got a Christmas card "To My Darling Wife". His sister called over and nearly had a fit thinking we'd snuck off to get married and not told anyone.

Watto1 · 18/01/2021 20:52

My DM once managed to send DH and I a Christmas card with ‘To my Daughter and Daughter-in-law’ on the front.

toomuchlikemyusername · 18/01/2021 20:55

Love it!
I got my daughter a lovely card this Christmas. It was only when she opened it that I realised it said on the front 'Wishing my beautiful daughter a Happy 1st Christmas'. She is 15 GrinGrin

itsgettingweird · 18/01/2021 20:56

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

He'd be forgiven for the lovely outside message.

BikeRunSki · 18/01/2021 21:00

I got accidentally DH a Father’s Day card for his birthday, I liked the picture....

cortex10 · 18/01/2021 21:01

Years ago teenage DS sent me a Mother's Day card
The front read: On Mother's Day. Inside it said 'You're just like a Mother to me'.

BeeDavis · 18/01/2021 21:10

My brother bought me and my fiancé a Christmas card, but the spelling on it was ‘Sister and her fiancée’.. I don’t think my fiancé could pull off being a woman 😂😂😂

SunnyAgain · 18/01/2021 21:29

I chose what I thought was a lovely arty flower design birthday card for my sister in law. It was only when I took it out of its packaging to write in it that I realised the text inside read “With sympathy”.

After some thought I added “... for having a birthday in the depths of a pandemic” and signed it as usual.

Oh god you don’t live in the welsh borders do you? I accidentally bought a friend and HER husband a Mr & Mr wedding card 😂
SunshineCake · 18/01/2021 21:59

One Mothers Day my son gave me an in sympathy card. On purpose. From my cupboard. Said it was because he was sorry they were awful kids. Still can't quite laugh about it.

PeanuttyButter · 18/01/2021 22:03

I sent DH the same card for our anniversary 3 years on the run and didn't realise. I used to work opposite a little independent shop and would buy all my cards from there. It seems I picked the same one 3 years in a row and didn't realise Grin
