An obscure one, but does anyone remember Co-op 'Jubilade' made in 1977 for the Silver Jubilee? It was one of the first fizzy drinks I ever tasted and it was delicious.

Grenlei · 18/01/2021 20:43

@Sideorderofchips

Salt and vinegar quavers Prawn cocktail quavers
You're in luck, I saw an ad for this the other day saying they are bringing them back (possibly only short term though but better than nothing!)

I'll second the Brannigans crisps comment upthread, the mustard ones were super strong but great. Crisps today are so flavourless!

I've thought of another few for me:

Vichy face scrub. They probably stopped selling it about 20 years ago, it was amazing stuff though.

Also I used to love Nicky Clarke Hairomatherapy shampoos and conditioners. They used to make my hair smell lovely (I had very long swishy ringlets in those days and people would often comment on both how nice my hair was and how wonderful it smelt Grin)

On rare occasions as a teenager I was sent to Bejam to buy a couple of things while my parents did the 'big shop' at the supermarket next door. One time I used my initiative and bought some little potato shapes. They were like a croquette, but spherical, about the size of a sprout and not in breadcrumbs though they had some sort of coating. They were bloody lovely, even my parents agreed and after that we bought them on and off for years. Then Bejam became Iceland and the little potatoes were no more Sad

LadyofMisrule · 18/01/2021 20:56

Mumtaz keema mattar. They used to stock it in Morrisons, but alas no more. It was awesome.

MrsIronfoundersson · 18/01/2021 21:09

@Roasteros

Those thin little pastel coloured sticks of rock/confectionery you could buy in a sweet shop, slightly chewy - those!

Fizzle sticks?

Roasteros are you Irish? There's a worldwide search for the recipe for fizzlesticks, which has been lost to time. If anybody ever figures it out, they'll make a million.
Catcrazy008 · 18/01/2021 21:11

@BoneyEm1972, wow thank you, going there this weekend for some essentials!

Whatwouldnanado · 18/01/2021 21:17

Walnut whips with a walnut in the bottom.
Terry's chocolate wafter biscuits like a superior KitKat.
Marksies plaice stuffed with prawns. Gorgeous and great value.
Marksies Marmite crisps.
Also their chicken flan. Lovely savoury pastry, layer or pesto and tomato, tender chicken breast and creamy sauce. Sounds awful but it was yummy.
Also fruit Clubs, the purple ones.

Threewicks · 18/01/2021 21:23

Aapri facial scrub pads, spira, Cadbury’s strollers, united biscuit, Timotei, Natrel plus deodorant, exclamation perfume, ice magic, club class mint biscuit with green mint pieces.

Grenlei · 18/01/2021 21:42

I found some Aapri pads in our local 99p shop several years ago, but they were nowhere near as abrasive as the ones I remember from my teens! I also used to like the facial scrub too.

Following on my earlier post, I have remembered the special Bejam potatoes were called Noisettes. Apparently Tesco now sell something similar...I live in hope, but bet they won't be as I remember!

@NeedWineNow

And Arctic Roll!
Resisted buying an arctic roll in Morrisons just last week !
twilightcafe · 18/01/2021 21:52

Proctor and Gamble - if you're lurking...
Please bring back Sunlight Soap.
Nothing smells or cleans like those lovely lemony bars.
They go for silly money on eBay and Amazon. You'd make a fortune!

BikeRunSki · 18/01/2021 22:00

Artic roll is still around and only costs about £1.

Hurtandupset2 · 18/01/2021 22:02

So many things I'd forgotten about until I read through the comments, lol.

The one I was coming on to mention is a jar of cheesy enchilada sauce from Asda (own brand). Used to buy it regularly as my daughter doesn't like spice(even so called mild ones) but they stopped stocking it about 1-2 years ago and haven't seen it since. Their replacement is just a basic tomato enchilada sauce, but it's too spicy for her, despite being labelled as mild! It's not as nice either, tbh, even I agree with that.

Bitz bars... how did I forget them!
Wham bars as they used to be.. they don't taste the same any more.
Dairy Milk as it was in the 80s/90s before they ruined it
Neopolitans.. forgot those too, but we always had them at Christmas.
Lemon crunch was lush too
Entenmann's tray cakes 😋

Don't know what it was called but we used to have this fried crispy noddle pasta thing, I'm sure, unless I made it up? I'm sure it was dropped into (maybe hot oil) and would puff up and get crispy?? It was really tasty..... any one remember what I'm on about?

Hurtandupset2 · 18/01/2021 22:12

Entenmann's Danish tray bakes were also to die for... seems like they still sell them in the US as well as their tray cakes... just not here 😭😭😭😭

RoseMartha · 18/01/2021 22:15

Another vote for spira here
Also pacers

MissBattleaxe · 18/01/2021 22:21

@Hurtandupset2 do you mean Vesta chow mein? They looked like yellow cardboard but puffed up in hot oil. Lovely!

Little biscuit things (possibly called Cartoons?) That were pebble-shaped and had chocolate in the middle. I never had a packet of these scrumptious things myself but loved it when my school friends shared them with me at lunchtime. They'd stopped making them by the time I was old enough to buy my own :(

Sweet chilli Thai Bites. The knock-off versions available nowadays aren't the same.

Labobo · 18/01/2021 22:48

Nutty bars - they were bars of fudgy toffee rolled in blanched unsalted peanuts. They sound boring but they were divine.

Labobo · 18/01/2021 22:49

Oh and Flex shampoo. It smelled incredible.

I was going to say them, but I thought they were called Star Bars, and that I thought I’d seen them recently (this century!).
whattodo2019 · 18/01/2021 23:27

pacers
Flex shampoo- i used to love the smell of the hello flex
Avon apple shaped soap- memories of my childhood

sodaPop5 · 18/01/2021 23:37

Marbles - a milk and white chocolate bar by Cadbury's out in the mid- to late-90s

A soft centred caramel which I think was called Jameson's but don't think it had whiskey in it...

I know they are probably better for us now...but all the cakes with the artificial colours etc...

Furries · 18/01/2021 23:58

@AngusThermopyle

Body shop- summer dew perfume oil. Gucci No.3. Someone mentioned cod nuggets oh my god they were delicious, definitely something about the batter.

@MaliceOrgan Flex shampoo was divine!

@Furries was it 'kissing potion'? I loved these!

Ah, thanks for flagging, but don’t think it was those either. I’m starting to wonder if I’m imagining my memories!
