Clinique Butter shine lipsticks- Pink Goddess

NymphInYellow · 18/01/2021 15:45

You can still get Tyrozets. I bought some in the pharmacy last year. Germolene though, as someone said upthread, was a massive disappointment. My Nan always had a tin of it and I thought it would bring back memories of childhood scraped knees, but it was just a pale imitation of its former self.

I miss Greggs cheese savoury baguettes. And their cheese and onion pasties used to be twice the size.

Agree that sugar in drinks being replaced with sweeteners is horrible, and Cadburys chocolate is just not the same. We still have an xmas tin of chocs knocking about. Even the kids aren't that fussed.

purpleleotard · 18/01/2021 15:48

I haven't read all 20 pages so apologies if someone has got there earlier.
Callard and Bowser toffee.
Odd shape, just a bit too long to chew politely, just delicious.

sashh · 18/01/2021 15:50

Obsession shower gel / soap / talk / anything that wasn't the actual perfume - which I can still get but how long for no one knows.

Strawberry Sunny Delight.
Mr Kipling Apple & Custard pies.
Mr Kipling Nut & Chocolate slices.
Garnier Synergy C - so refreshing and perfect for my skin.
Wella did a shampoo about 25 years ago that was for coloured hair. It was amazing. Can’t remember the name but it had an odd shaped bottle.
Body Shop peach face scrub.

SlopesOff · 18/01/2021 18:23
@SlopesOff Do you mean DOP, the French toiletries brand? You can buy it on Amazon or online from specialist French supermarkets in the UK. It's more expensive than buying it in France obviously, about £5.

They also make Haribo scented shower gel Grin
@orangenasturtium Thank you, but it isn't the same. It was in a little dumpy bottle, blue, pink or yellow and in the old days when shampoo got your hair really clean and wasn't full of silicon and perfumes that made your eyes burn. It vanished late 70's I think. It may be made by the same people but the shampoo won't be the same now, too many regulations have been brought in about ingredients.

Also Herbal Essences, pre the 2005 (I think) regulations to remove anything that worked properly from shampoos, The clarifying one was great, now it is shite.

And, the old 'citrifier' shampoo by Aussie, that went about the same time. It was great.

Finally, Blonde shampoo and conditioner from John Frieda. It went through several 'new and improveds' and the first couple were OK, it just changed slightly but eventually it changed so much it was foul and stank like a cheap air freshener.

Finding decent shampoo these days is nigh on impossible.

Cariba - it was like Lilt (and the can was almost identical) but not quite as sweet.

Agree with pp who said mature cheddar McCoys - the cheese and onion ones are rubbish by comparison. The mature cheddar used to have luscious lumps of orange cheesy powder in the ridges.

Ready-salted Snack-a-Jacks in the individual packets.

There used to be a type of tiny cook-from-frozen pasty - this would have been circa 1983 - that had very pale pastry and very finely minced meat inside it. They may have come from Bejam. They would certainly have been very cheap knowing my parents' frugality We'd always take them as part of the picnic when we went to the seaside. They stopped doing them after a year and I have never found anything to replace them.

MissBattleaxe · 18/01/2021 19:17

Those tubs of Henara Henna Conditioner. It was like thick double cream and made my hair super glossy. I loved the smell. Also Alberto VO5 Jojoba shampoo - another divine smell. My hair always smelled nice in the 80s!

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 18/01/2021 19:21

Would you call 'Hanging' a product ?

Maybe not then... 8

MadameTuffington · 18/01/2021 19:37

The original Penguin biscuit with foil wrapper - modern ones are NOT the same.

Pork scratchings, you say?

Which now defunct product would you bring back?
twilightcafe · 18/01/2021 19:39

I meant cock scratchings!

LunaNorth · 18/01/2021 19:40

Roast Beef and Mustard Brannigans. They were so strong, they really cleared your sinuses.

Ham and Pickle Brannigans were good, too.

IDontDrinkTea · 18/01/2021 19:43

Echo biscuits

No, they're not. When they got rid of the foil, for a while they changed the coating to contain less chocolate, so they had to be described as 'chocolate flavour'. That was rectified but they never returned to the chocolatey glory of old.

Creme Eggs have never been the same since the green and blue wrappers were changed to purple. And in the last couple of years, they've become almost inedible.

WellTidy · 18/01/2021 20:04

Vidal sassoon shampoo and conditioner from the early 90s. Amazing smell - sort of almondy, and really good for my hair. I used to buy it in Tesco in my lunch hour (Saturday job on the checkouts).

BoneyEm1972 · 18/01/2021 20:05
