What would you name your home (ideal or current) if you wanted to/was able to. Feel free to describe the ideal home too.

Mine's a nice little cottage like you'd see in storybooks.
'Wisteria something' or 'Something Wisteria'. Haven't decided yet what that something is.

Rorty Crankle which is Anglo Saxon for Windy Corner.

PaperMonster · 17/01/2021 17:18

The Tip is probably apt.

I'd like to have a house that had a historic name, so not like The Hollies or River View - Trennels, maybe!

YoniAndGuy · 17/01/2021 17:37

I think Shameless Bump is a great name for a house OP, I’d go for that one!

HouseNamingCeremony · 17/01/2021 17:43

😂 You're right!

Another Antonia Forest Fan!

I'd like Lavender Cottage perhaps. That's because we've got a great big, run down Victorian vicarage that is bloody draughty and we're all at home.

I'm envisaging something small and cosy..

beccy11 · 17/01/2021 17:49

Ours was already naked (Lowlands)
But if I were renaming.... Bookends (I love books)

beccy11 · 17/01/2021 17:50

RobinsEggBlue · 17/01/2021 17:54

Tether’s End

SallyTimms · 17/01/2021 17:56

The bickerage

Ghostella · 17/01/2021 17:58

The Beehive I would be most appropriate

MariaAngustias · 17/01/2021 17:59

We called our cottage 'Coles cottage' cos when we got the deeds he was the man who built in in 1848 and lived there with his wife. Other option was Rowan cottage after the rowan tree in the front garden which died 2 years later so glad we didn't go for that one.

MrsWooster · 17/01/2021 18:02

@RobinsEggBlue

Tether’s End
I came on to say this! Since you’ve baggsied it, I’ll got for ‘Dunhooverin’
AaronCardigan · 17/01/2021 18:05

There is a website somewhere that generates a house name for you. You put in things you can see from your window, then the website gives you some suggestions.
I put in I could see my neighbours cat, Mitzi. My house is now unofficially called Mitzi Side.

I wondered. Thought I'd missed a saying, especially with Lowlands. Was going to google 'naked houses'.😂

@NovemberR I knew someone would get it!

Elieza · 17/01/2021 18:13

Saorsa.

Meaning freedom.

As that’s what my house gave me. Although I’ve been tied to the mortgage which did clip my feathers a bit ha ha!

Kathers92 · 17/01/2021 18:14

All of the houses are named on our lane. The best one by far is Tally-ho. Mine is named Blue Firs. And yep we have lots of them.

I like "Linden Lea ". It's a song my grandad used to sing and I always imagined living in a house called that! A lovely cottage with a country garden all around it, and tall trees behind it. Well, we can all dream....!

Sethy38 · 17/01/2021 18:20

Oh I so love my home, I’m struggling to think of something that would convey how much I do!

It’s quirky, turn of the century and tucked away. Everyone always struggles to find.

Something like the hideaway or the nook - but bit boring really
